I own the xm3, xm4s and xm5s. I prefer these to the other two. I feel like there is more room for my ears (large ears...). I also feel like there's less clamping, again, more comfort. SQ/Noise Cancelling is on-par with the 4s IMO. Just my xp... ymmv.

EDIT: agree with hazlitt below -- battery life is nuts on these compared to previous models. also charging speed... i feel like they can fully charge in under an hr vs several hrs for the xm3/4 models.

I use mine daily for remote work... they come with me everywhere and get tossed around at least a little bit... zero issues for the last 8 months or so. I did buy refurbed, so maybe they're fixing the original issue Smilie

$160 from the same seller, direct from their website about 6 weeks ago, good eye. I'll wait for them to return to an all-time low.

Refurbis already? Guess the ear pieces really do break off easily.
Already? Lol its been out for 6 months. You can usually find refurbished anything weeks after a release.

So 2 questions.

1. Do these come with the case and cables?

2. Anyone have experience with the all state warranty?
Had to use the Allstate warranty on the WF-1000XM4s. It was pretty easy, just filled out a quick form online. They emailed me a shipping label to ship them in for repair. Once they received them they told me they couldn't be repaired and they sent a check for the price I paid for the headphones before tax.

Is used like new same as their refurbished? This one also has a 2 year warranty.

I am tempted to buy it but I have a feeling that we will see better price next week. Clearly there is no shortage of these units.

I've hear people say these are heavy, uncomfortable, and make your ears sweat. Facts or fiction?
All three of these metrics are subjective. IMO they are light. Very light. They don't have a lot of room for your ears, so if your ears stick out then you might want to skip these. They touch my ears (which don't stick out much) but not enough to bother me. My ears do sweat if I'm in a hot environment. Personally, I wouldn't want to workout in these headphones because they would be too hot.

I would assume "used like new" is pretty much the same as "refurbished", refurb doesn't seem to mean much these days other than "we ran a clorox wipe over it, and put it in a plastic bag", haha. That said, I've bought headphones (XM3's) through secondipity before and been pleased with the quality I received, they're a good seller.

True that direct through their website doesn't seem to have much of a warranty. Also, the $160 is currently expired, so moot point. I bet you're right that we'll see a better discount on these come Black Friday / CM.

I've been wanting to upgrade to the XM5's from my XM3's since watching a great "real world test" video from the Verge a few months ago [youtube.com].

+$20 worth for the 2 years warranty over 90 days and eBay returns. These things battery life is a hit or miss of refurbished or like new.

given the $160 deal direct on their site, I feel like they might have a little more wiggle room for a price drop for a black friday/cyber monday kind of thing. I bought xm3's from secondipity a few years ago, there's a huge design flaw in those headphones and mine broke from pretty light use just from poor product design. i almost never break electronics. the allstate warranty reimbursed me the full amount i paid for the headphones so that was sweet. i'd think the ideal deal would be on ebay and anything under this price mark would be really slick.

by the way...if you want to look in a slightly different direction, i've really enjoyed the hifiman deva pro as a portable hifi headphone setup. they're open back so you won't be able to really use it around other people, but it's amazing around the house and on walks. different product for sure though.

Last time I bought from secondipity was a laptop that lasted me 2 years off of a 3 year warranty. All State took the laptop back after we troubleshooted it over the phone. When they got the laptop, they couldn't fix it so they give me back the whole $500 that I had paid.

I've had another warranty claim from them using Amazon and they replaced it no problems.

I'm buying with confidence

I went ahead and bought it - I'm expecting $250 from BF and Sony offers a 1 year warranty. I haven't had a bad experience with them yet so I'm expecting the headphones to be brand new but open boxed or repaired as brand new

I wouldn't count on these falling to $160 again. The XM4's barely drop to $180 anymore. But the XM4's have a proven track record of being durable with good battery.

This comes with 2 year warranty so it's a no brainer. It should stack well with an extended warranty offered by a credit card since the condition is refurbished but not used. Also, there is an Amex eBay offer (15 - 5).
