It seems like they just didn't set it up correctly yet. I'd guess it'll be working in another day or two.

I saw the advertisement. I think someone earlier in the thread said that when they contacted Verizon a few days ago, that they were working on getting it right and it should be working in a day or two. Maybe a day or two is relative

I already subscribe to one of these +play subscriptions outside of Verizon. Can I manage it through +play?
Most existing subscriptions can't be moved to +play. However your existing Max subscription can be moved to +play so you can manage your billing through +play.
To add subscriptions in +play other than Max, you must cancel the existing subscription and resubscribe through +play:
Contact the service provider to cancel.
Wait to re-subscribe through +play until the end of the original subscription's billing cycle. This helps avoid duplicate charges for the service.
Resubscribe through +play.

This might somehow give Verizon viewing data for advertising purposes, but I bet that they're just hoping most people forget to cancel after the promotional period. Inertia is a powerful thing.
