I bought the Action 4 over the Hero 12 and not a single regret. The User experience, more natural look without noticeable edge warping in standard, quick settings, battery life and fast charging, front touch screen, quick startup, lowlight performance, awesome magnetic mounting system, and ease of interface for external mics without something like a media mod all made me switch over. I love it, but I also got the DJI Pocket 3 which makes for a perfect pair, and going forward I plan on keeping with the dji ecosystem. (Mini 4 pro is next!).

My purpose is travel vlogging mainly.

That being said, the sale on the DJI isn't a given but a probably, and the Hero 12 looks to be solid and I love the vibrant daytime colors.

If you have the target coupon and a redcard $299 is probably unbeatable versus any upcoming dji deals

$70 more than the Gopro 11 at Costco. Tempting price for the longer battery and ability to record audio from any Bluetooth headphones. Now just torn between the newly released pocket 3 and whatever is being released November 21st by Insta360.

Between this deal and the GP11 deal at Costco - seems $70 more for the two strong points you mentioned (in addition to the fixed overheating issues of the 11) is a no-brainer

It is waterproof to 33ft as is. You can buy a waterproof case if you need more than that.

Correct. I usually use a case, even if just rubber to keep it from scuffs/ scratches. And the more beefy case for ATVs and stuff
