The Chase Prime Visa is literally one of the most PREDATORY, borderline ILLEGAL cards in the entire credit card industry.
Charge $1000 on this card, pay off $900. You should only be charged interest on $100, but the interest is for the full $1000. Yeah, GTFO. Show me any other charge card that does this.
People make mistakes with auto-pay. Sometimes despite one's best efforts or a family medical emergency, you miss paying off the full balance one month. I get this card has no annual fee and Chase has to make their profits somehow, but this is legit the most predatory way to do it. Zero-forgiveness in this card, so if you do sign up, make sure you never under any circumstance miss the full payment, even by missing one cent or by one day.
I'd rather carry Chase Freedom Flex + Discover IT cards (both with no annual fee), take advantage of staggered 5% cashback on all Amazon purchases for two quarters of a calendar year (including this holiday quarter), and just not deal with the BS.
A lot of you out there are chasing a $200 gift card carrot, but the 100% accrued balance interest penalty stick may hit you back a lot harder in the long run...
Declined with an over 800 credit score.
If you visit the page for this, you can do a pre-qualify check before actually applying.
Also, right after you get approved, you can grab a referral link to have friends/family use and you can get another $50 per each approved referral. (Up to $500)

LOL! Every single credit card ever charges you interest on your entire balance for the month if you don't pay in full. You're mad about an industry staple.
If you can't pay off your CCs every month you shouldn't have a CC anyway.
Wrong. Every credit card except this one charges you interest on the UNPAID balance for the month. I don't think you understand what the industry staple is, or this must be the only CC you own.
Maybe you're not in the UK? And I have plenty of cards but I don't pay interest on anything because I'm not poor enough to not pay off my balances in full. Sorry you don't earn enough money to support the lifestyle you desire.
Literally NO one asked or cared for the UK perspective on credit card interest and accrued balances. This SD thread is very clearly only for US consumers. If your country's norm is still excising predatory interest and taxation terms 250 years after we dumped all of your nasty tea into the Boston Harbor, well, we tried to teach you a lesson that clearly didn't stick. Here in the US, the norm is you get charged interest only for the remaining balance you didn't pay off yet.
I don't carry any rotating debt and always pay my CC's off in full. I'm just trying to share advice for others in the US who may not understand the terms. Go stay on your side of the ocean. Isn't it past your bedtime anyway?
Just a warning to folks, if you don't pay off the entire balance of this card each month you are charged interest on the entire accrued balance for that period plus the grace period. If you read reviews on this card it's one of the most predatory out there.
Thanks for the important warning. I've dragged my feet on this for a long time, but finally decided to pull the trigger given how much I sadly spend on Amazon. But point that I can't allow myself to forget a payment in full every month.
Since this is a Chase card, does it show up in the chase app so I can see its balance and pay it alongside my other chase cards or is it somewhere buried in the Amazon app? Given the predatory nature I want to know it's easy to see my balance and pay it off in the same place as the rest of my banking

Fortunately, this being issued by Chase, you will see this Amazon Prime Visa alongside any other cards in the Chase app.
Just like the other Chase cards, as long as you have Automatic payments turned on and the Payment amount set to Statement balance, you should be set.
I haven't even read the comments, but I can warn everyone that customer service at chase is either stationed underground and teaches kindergarten or purposely negligent! Ironic that I all but paid off a $2k balance and astonishingly get locked out of my account and nobody can figure out why or how to unlock it after 3 separate calls over a 2wk period and counting. Many other prior mysteries unsolved with chase. Advice: Stay clear no matter how much they are offering new customers!

There are many different reasons why you get denial of a new credit card with a high credit score.
1. The bank does not want to extend a new credit to you since you have had too many.
2. Your credit reports are being locked and you forgot to unlock your credit profiles prior to applying for a new credit.
3. You have violated Chase's 5/24 or 2/30 rules.
For those who got rejected, call Chase Reconsideration at 888-270-2127. Sometimes one phone call may get you approved by moving a credit line from one of your existing Chase CCs. With this approach, you will still get the $200 AGC as the signup bonus.
Here's how you open the conversation.
"Hello, I recently applied for Amazon Prime Visa and was surprised to see that my application (was rejected/wasn't instantly approved). I was hoping I could talk to someone to better understand this decision and possibly get it reconsidered."

I suggest this thread to start, but be aware the OP is very old. Still insane amount of great data and help in there.
But as an example, I just received a Chase Ink offer. 100k bonus points, which can be directly cashed in for $1000 cash back or $1250 in airline credit. That's a big one. But 40k is average, or maybe even below average. $400 minimum, or I'm not touching it.
