The Chase Prime Visa is literally one of the most PREDATORY, borderline ILLEGAL cards in the entire credit card industry.
Charge $1000 on this card, pay off $900. You should only be charged interest on $100, but the interest is for the full $1000. Yeah, GTFO. Show me any other charge card that does this.
People make mistakes with auto-pay. Sometimes despite one's best efforts or a family medical emergency, you miss paying off the full balance one month. I get this card has no annual fee and Chase has to make their profits somehow, but this is legit the most predatory way to do it. Zero-forgiveness in this card, so if you do sign up, make sure you never under any circumstance miss the full payment, even by missing one cent or by one day.
I'd rather carry Chase Freedom Flex + Discover IT cards (both with no annual fee), take advantage of staggered 5% cashback on all Amazon purchases for two quarters of a calendar year (including this holiday quarter), and just not deal with the BS.
A lot of you out there are chasing a $200 gift card carrot, but the 100% accrued balance interest penalty stick may hit you back a lot harder in the long run...
Declined with an over 800 credit score.
If you visit the page for this, you can do a pre-qualify check before actually applying.
Also, right after you get approved, you can grab a referral link to have friends/family use and you can get another $50 per each approved referral. (Up to $500)

840 FICO, 220k income and got your application needs further review. 1 credit inquiry in last 12 months so kind of shocking it wasn't approved instantly. I haven't been denied for a credit cad in over a decade. I even have a chase a bank account so real curious what the hold up might be. Also $0 in carried credit card balances, I'm even so stringent I typically pay my cards mid-month so they don' report with high balances to stay under the 15% threshold where it starts to damage your credit.
It's never a good idea to close zero-fee credit cards as that affects credit history. You could ask Chase to replace it with some other credit of your choice.
As far as I read, there is no fee and no penalty if you don't, or rarely, use the card. Is this correct? I have no need for it, but I'd rather it sit in the drawer and never use it. I am curious how long it would take for Chase to close the card for non-use.
Funny thing... My CS shot to 850 and then down to 847 a few days after getting this card.
Thinking about freezing my credit just to hold on to that nice number for a while.
I ended up calling the verification department at 1-800-278-8830. They immediately processed the application. Email approval sent and $200 added to my Amazon account immediately while I was still on the phone.
They asked to verify my address and date of birth, so I took a picture of my driver's license and sent it to them. I called, and the person asked for the reference number on the email. She asked 2 questions to verify my identity, and then I was approved.

What was it before? I wonder how long it'll take to get back to your original score?
Got it! Finally, I've been denied applying for this card twice in past years even though I have excellent credit. Glad they did because those were gonna only get me like $50. $200 instant into my account, bam

Credit is some weird crap... It was at like 764 or something. I've seen it jump like that before.
