I have the 100 ft kit but did a lot of research beforehand. The power supply included in the kits will only allow for the max of 150 feet. If you attempt to chain additional strings, the lights will flicker or not even light up from what I've read. Solution is to buy multiple kits and plug them into separate outlets and use the app to sync the different kits so they behave as one.

I own 30 different Govee products and I love them all and I love the company and their customer service is second to none. Govee hosts their own products on Amazon and works with Amazon. That's why the prices are the same but they are not always exactly the same. If you plan on buying more Govee products in the future, or you think you might, you won't get rewards points buying on Amazon but you will from their website FYI

Can these just be plugged into an outdoor outlet? Or does the controller or psu need to be inside?

Pretty sure the instructions just show it outside but I plugged into the garage door ceiling outlet and they give a lot of extension cord length to run over through the attic and down into the soffit

How many strings of lights did this take? Thanks for sharing, by the way!

It was about 200' total. I bought a 150 and 100 but had a few strands left over

From my past light hanging I think I'd need a 150 and 100. Cost seems high but I guess for year round lighting for all the holidays, maybe it'd be worth it. I see a 36mo limited warranty on the pdf on Amazon but can't find much more. Seems like it'd be a real hassle if things go bad on these

Is it true that you can not group a 150' run with a 100'?

Basically creates a break where your porch is essentially just illuminated in the colors you choose
Not sure what you mean by creating a break.

Also, the overhang extends past the porch onto dirt/plants so the porch itself won't be illuminated. I'm wondering if the lighting effects (say alternating colors or animations) will be visible without something nearby to reflect off of.

Does anyone know how these will look if they are reflecting off of a gray wall as opposed to white or a lighter color surface?

3 or 4 inches is your best bet depending on what your house exterior is and how the lights will reflect. i have brick and stucco and went with 3 inches. Use painters tape to temporarily hang a couple lights up at different distances to see what you like best
What color is your brick and how the the colors look reflecting off that? Does the brick alter the color compared to the stucco? And what color is the stucco?

Group them how? You can't join the two runs and have the 250' of lights controlled by a single controller. A controller can only support up to 150' of lights so you would need one for each of those runs. In the Govee app, you can create a group of devices to control them both at once though. That is what i do with mine.

I've had these up for the last two months, and so far we love them. The emitters and cables seem quality, and should last a long while. Theyre plenty bright, and I typically run these at only 50% output anyway. We used them for about two weeks straight leaving up to halloween, and plan to use them each holiday, but not necessarily every day. So far, I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.
Could I kindly ask if you noticed on the box or plug if these are only 110w or if they are 110w - 220w dual voltage? I'm serving overseas in the military and would love these for the unit!

My brick is shades of light reds and light browns while my stucco is a very dark brown. There is no difference in color with the lights. I made this video last night that hopefully helps

Meaning you will have a line of like cone shape design on the eaves/wall...then you will have a "break" in the line where your porch is, just general illumination, then another line/ cone effect after that on the next eave/wall.

Probably it's better to go under the porch and along this house wall. Seems like it would create a more seamless look.
