Anyone know if the 20% trade in value is off the list price or discounted price? Thanks.
It's off the discounted price. I just traded in my old Fire HD 6 (which was been collecting dust in a drawer ever since I got my HD 10)... and my total was like $62 after taxes and the $5 trade-in. I did need to refresh my browser for the deal to apply (maybe it took a minute??), but it did automatically pop up in my cart
I've been out of the Fire Tablet game for a little while... does anyone know if you can still replace the launcher with nova using Fire toolbox? Can it still kill ads?

They never automatically apply mine. Always want me to ship it back and wait for them to appraise it. Takes forever
Warning: I shipped my old 2020 Fire tablet 10 HD for the 30$ + 20% off new product.
When they received the tablet, they changed it to a 2020 HD 10 kids tablet that I didn't even own.
They gave me the 30$ gift card but did NOT give me the 20%.
Apparently you can only redeem an item for 20% off ONCE.. If you redeemed the offer last year during prime days, you can not receive it again.. (Only 1 redemption per amazon account)

Is this new for this year? I remember the 20% being applied to the original price last year.
Does anyone have a link/lead to a specs chart comparing older models, say whatever that first had USB-C with this one? RAM, CPU - none of that is mentioned.
BTW what is a "tumble test"? I would think a drop test is more meaningful but maybe nothing would survive that unless it's from a short distance and/or not so hard surface.

The issue it the amount of bloatware and Amazon's past history of updating Android to newer versions. I believe this tablet uses Android 11... NOT ACCEPTABLE.
So you have a LOW budget and you want a tablet. Your best option today may be a CHINESE tablet that has almost no bloat ware.
For $90 you can get the iplay 50 min which is a 8.4" tablet. You need to research 10" chinese tablets if that is what you want. But I would NEVER again buy a fire tablet.

There's a big difference (literally) between a 8.4" tablet and a 10-in tablet.
I bought one and easily debloaded it last year with the fire toolbox. and installed a stock launcher.
Well worth $80, though I wouldn't pay the full retail $150 for it

Yes and no.
First of all, it has been over two years since XDA Amazon Tool Box worked properly as it does not eliminate or disable any bloatware. Due to this I can never recommend a fireHD tablet.
As the 8.4" vs 10.1"... yes BIG difference but the functionality to me is more important than screen size and I like the small form factor.
p.s.
I have a 2018 FireHD 10 that has XDA Amazon Tool box installed properly but realize that I have not had a update to my tablet since the day I got it. It still works well but I have already replaced it due to no being able to properly install parent control with the tablet locked down with XDA... again XDA no longer works.
