Definitely have heard the WiFi versions are terrible. I have bought all non-wifi models and so far they have been great.
It's true. I have a black wifi and white non-wifi. The purifiers work great. The app is useless. The wifi model just functions like my non wifi model now.
The app always wants ridiculous permissions and was bugged and broken. The air quality monitoring reports don't mean much. I haven't had the app installed in forever.

This must be a thing with air purifiers as for my Winix C545, it always loses wifi connection. I have it scheduled to turn on and off in the app but since it always loses the connection I just leave it on 24/7 now.

Also, the 300/400 or other larger ones actually filter better / more. The smaller units do a great job (like the 1512) but the bigger ones quote 99.99% filtration of .01 micron.

There's no reason to have an air purifier if you're turning it off anyways. Air is constantly being cycled out and so constantly needs to be filtered.

I have had the wifi version for a year and love it. No issues at all.

What's the best way to get new filters? Direct?
I've been buying rando 3rd party filters for both this and my 300. Quality seems similar, fit sometimes is a bit tighter on the aftermarket. I'll pick up oem now only if there's a killer deal.

This. I've had a 1512 for about 3 years, runs great and had 0 issues. That being said the filters are pretty pricey. Even third party you're usually looking at $10+ per filter, and I find mine need to be changed after 4-6 weeks.

I still buy the filters and keep it running.

Have had this model for about 3 years with no issues with both stock and 3rd party filters. Also use my ipod shuffle everyday, what an amazing device, going to be a travesty if that thing ever dies

I'm guessing the street price went up on these. They've been as low as $129. The similar version with a different face/front was $129 in black and white the last Prime Day in October.

I have mine on a smart plug to turn on only at night. Works great.

Interested also.

I have purchased 3rd party filters, but not sure if they are as good, and since this is a health thing, we're sticking to OEM.

For now we just buy from Home Depot using discounted HD gift cards.

While it detracts a bit from the aesthetic, you can put some black electrical tape over the LEDs to hide the lights at night.

I did this for my Winix and the Costco models (and anything else in the house, really... Blue light at night is awful).
You can also buy translucent stickers on Amazon that are made specifically for blocking LED lights. They're not very noticeable during the day and they do a good job of toning down those blazing bright lights that manufacturers love to put on electronics to just a faint glow.
