I have all the top rated air filters and the Coway beats them all because it has a pre-filter screen that is super easy to clean and reduces the wear on the expensive hepa filter. Why others do not have that extra screen is beyond comprehension!

Seems expensive, when it hit FP in past, it was $120-125.
But I guess with Canadian wildfires affecting east coast, demand is higher.

terrible deal. got it last year for 120$ from Costco with spare filters. Just because there is a fire and every retailer doubles the price, 150% of the price is not a deal.

I paid $184 for this unit plus a replacement filter pack last March for context.

It works well. I was very glad to have it during the recent wild fire smoke events on the East Coast.

Not a terrible price if you need one now but as others have said, it goes on sale for $120 fairly regularly. Either way it's highly recommended (top pick on Wirecutter for several years) and third party filters are readily available.
