I have a S340 mounted on a tree in my front yard and i really like it. The zoom is pretty amazing and i really dont have any complaints yet. I guess we will see how well the solar power works this coming winter, but so far its worked great. The AI works pretty good on it but now i have it connected to my homebase 3. This camera can also do follow me which is pretty awesome. I have mine mounted by my front sidewalk so anyone who comes to my house or walks buy it follows and records them. Great for Neighborhood Watch!

I have this. And it recharges great when in direct sunlight, I have about 3 hours of sunlight on it and it stays at 100%or above 90% depending on how many times someone triggers it. It's motion activated.

I like this camera a lot. If you don't have any sunlight, it won't recharge and you'll either have to take it down to charge it or have to attach a super long extension. Cord from the inside of your house and let it charge but that seems crappy as well.

But I have no complaints. I have several eufy products and this is amazing for above my front door facing my front yard.

You don't need a Homebase to use this camera. It will connect to the app no problem and will record video as well, however it will just save the video locally on the device itself (8gb of storage) rather than the homebase. If you want additional storage and perks with this camera (16gb of storage on the HB, or more if you add an SSD), you will need to get the homebase3, but again, it's not necessary in order to use the S340

tiktok extra offer may be a bug which they might have fixed. I see only $20 off which is $119.99 + tax regardless what I do. Tried canceling order twice..Not trying again.

Wish they would make a smaller non battery version of this.

I don't like battery powered cameras (especially lithium ion) sitting outdoors in the sun, even under the eaves.

No idea if this particular one requires direct light.

Buuut, I have a bunch of solar powered LED lights and they charge just fine with ambient daylight. Sometimes I will notice the lights are dimmer after a few rainy days but overall, they charge just fine. This is likely the same tech but your mileage will vary.
