Funny, no one's mentioned that these printers can be used totally on a local network without connecting to their cloud at all.

The only thing I disagree with is their impact on 3d printing community is actually very positive.

3d printer designs have been stagnant for 3-4 years, they brought some good competition to market (think tesla).
You don't have to like it, or support them, but without them I doubt you'd see so many competing coreXY klipper based machines out there.

There are other uses for the AMS.
1) Dry box for open spools.
2) Keep an extra spool of the same color filament and have it automagically use the next same color spool for long prints.
3) Multicolor by layers. It minimizes waste and you don't have to manually switch colors at layers.

the free filament thing is scam. i ordered when it was in stock. my invoice says so. i got two .25kg of basic pla rolls, which is not what i expected.

not a good start with this company.
You should've gotten an email indicating they ship separately. The P1S always comes with 2 sample rolls (250g each) of PLA basic. The offer is for 2 full rolls (1000g each) of PLA silk and PLA tough.

Both boxes arrived today for me, but they might not for you. But it's most assuredly not a scam, just two separate shipments.

The 2 extra rolls are for first 7000 orders only, so it could be that if you order now you won't get any.

You can get more of a discount on the TikTok shop. up to $75 off the sale price.
Only discount I saw on Tiktok shop was 30% for new customers, max $20. BUT shipping is not free from Tiktok shop, it's $30. Shipping shows as free when purchased from the Bambu website, so I would end up paying +$10 if bought from Tiktok shop.

Shipping is not free as the post title states. It is $35 as the other says. So, I think the title should be edited to + $35 shipping and handling rather than + free shipping .

I purchased X1CC from TikTok shop, here's the breakdown of pricing.
Subtotal $1,299.00
Sales tax $113.67
Shipping $35.00
Coupons - $50.00
Total (1 item) $1,397.67

Note shipping is the same as from Bambu Lab directly ($35), so the $50 coupon does indeed reduce the price by $50.

I have a P1P + AMS, P1S + AMS, now X1C + AMS, am quite happy with these printers.

Why do you have so many, and if you were to pick one out of all of these, including the one one you purchased, which one would you pick and why?

I agree that waking up the community (and, let's be honest, PRUSA, who have coasted on their great product for 4 years) by putting together a bunch of disparate tech in one reasonably priced box was important for the community as a whole. Competition is GOOD. So as a one-time thing, I can say that had a positive effect. But Bambu's business model of stealing, rebranding open source, badmouthing the open source products they actually copied and rebranded as theirs, not reciprocating and spying is VERY BAD for the segment, long term.
Can you tell me what open source product was stolen? Pretty sure they've followed the license on anything open source they used

TL;DR:
* P1P if you want the budget model that requires more brainpower on your end (to tune filament, etc. - Best for printing PLA/PLA+ (Mostly Decorative prints that don't need to be temperature resistant) - You can print other filaments but need to enclose it. (I have mine in a Greenhut grow tent from Amazon for this purpose)

* P1S if you want the enclosure included right up front.

* X1C if you don't want to hassle with calibrating your filaments so much (LIDAR) and want the more premium build vs. P1S (metal vs. plastic walls), 1080p camera with real FPS vs. 720p with 2 seconds per frame (0.5fps) on P1P/P1S. The CPU and Screen in X1C is also superior to P1P/P1S.

In my experience, the P1P, P1S, and X1C can all generate equivalent prints. The underlying technology is the same in all 3. The screen is not used for interaction very much at all. The better CPU in X1C allows more features/slightly faster slicing.

Started as a Hobby with P1P/Early Bird almost exactly a year ago (ordered on Black Friday)

I printed stuff that I thought was cool. Made a lot of small, cheap, single color prints that i gave out as keychains and fridge magnets, etc. to friends.

Without intending it, this functioned as advertising/word of mouth, and I started to get custom orders in.

It quickly became profitable and I had my P1P paid off within a few months.

I purchased 1 year worth of monthly vendor admission to the art show downtown locally, and I started to set up a booth there with racks selling my prints. I had a lot of fun talking with everyone and selling stuff! I spent more than I made, for sure, on supplies, foldable shelving/racks for the booth, modeler's patreon subscription for commercial sales, etc.

Got an EcoFlow River 2 Max - this can run the printer for a few hours, enough to bring my P1P to display at the booth. Printing right in front of people creates a lot of engagement, really boosted my sales.

I got the AMS to go with P1P at that point and started to do multi color printing, but that takes quite a bit more time to print than single color with the color changes. So that created the need for a second printer. Got the P1S+AMS.

Now, I've got enough custom orders in that my workload is saturated - creating the need for another printer. I got the X1C just because I wanted to experience the full range of offering from Bambu. For my needs, P1S would be more than adequate.

If I had to start over again and budget wasn't an issue, i'd probably have started with X1C + AMS, as it is a little more newbie friendly with LIDAR to calibrate your filament. However, learning how to calibrate does not take very long at all, and you can almost get two P1S for the price of an X1C.

Is it me or is the AMS a gimmick
It seems like this is something that will get very little use and that is a very expensive addon
I know a guy with the X1 and the AMS
And he does this sort of professionally and sells at the local farmers market
He has very few prints that use the AMS and be said that coloring prints in the slicer is difficult and he usually just grabs models that are are already colored.
Seems like a waste of money till the software improves as I am sure it will but is it just better to get it now as future proofing?
The price difference between the X1 and the X1 with AMS is pretty steep isn't it?
Would the X1 with no AMS be a better value for close to this price?

AMS is $100 off in this sale if bundled with printer, normally $350, $250 in this sale.

Expensive - well, it's relative. Bambu has a very fast 3D printer, so I would say that filament is really the expensive part. The one-time costs associated with purchasing a printer will soon pale in comparison, if you want to keep it printing Smilie

Personally, my hands shake and i'm not the greatest artist. I tried to sand/primer/paint my prints that I wanted colored, and while it did come out good in the end, I was not a fan of the post processing work involved.

I am however good with CAD software, regarding the difficulty in coloring, it is true that painting with the slicer is difficult. Learning the paint bucket and it's angles helps a lot. But what really helps is exporting your models from CAD as separate objects. You can import all the objects into the slicer at once, and it will offer to assemble them whole.

At that point you can right click each object in the list and assign a color to it. Works as well as you can ask Smilie

You can also use AMS to change color by layer, and design your models so that each desired color is at a different layer. This makes it simple to color.

I personally support Micro Center any time it makes even the slightest bit of sense to do so. When so many brick and mortar stores have vanished, making it impossible to find a thing you need that very day, it's good to keep the ones you like in business.

I've read in a Reddit post that Bambu will not honor any warranty service if the printer was not directly bought from them, including Micro Center. The post quoted a direct response from Bambu.

Give them time to steal PRUSA's new system they developed for the MK4 with MMU3 that wastes almost no filament in color changes. It's what Bambu labs does - steal and spy.
Steal the MMU design? Really? That absolute junk designed by a 4 year old? Copy that? Why would they be so stupid to copy something that is historically is non-working junk. And Prsua just tell you to 3d print more of its own parts to fix their problems. wake up dude. Joshpha Prusa is only about scamming his customers with 3d printed crap instead of selling something with quality and product that actually work.

Haha I have an Ender 3v2 collecting dust because it only works like 30% of the time. It's been modded to hell where it doesn't even look like a Ender 3v2 anymore. I spent nearly the cost of a new P1P to build it.

I just pulled the trigger on a P1S through their TikTok store for an additional $50 off. Excited to start printing again and not spending 95% of my time tinkering with the stupid printer.
