I originally bought a bunch of wyze cameras V3 with 128 GB cards to put in them to avoid having to play the subscription. But now I wish I had flashed RTSP fw on them so I could use them with an NVNR on my server
Warning: Wyze is a scummy company and notorious for bait and switch. They are the equivalent of printer companies with how they will sell you the gateway device cheap , with freebies and features initially, then switch most if not all features to paid / subscription model leaving the unit near worthless and useless unless you continue to pay fees perpetually.

Just put in your own sd card and pay them nothing, you want more than 12 cent cloud, then give them money. 12 cent cloud with sd backup is fine
I've used their cams since the first version. I've never been caught off guard by a product or service; free or paid. But, I read the terms so there's that. Everything is clear when purchasing if you rEaD. Nearly a decade later and I'm still buying and using their cams as a happy customer. I have about 10 or 11 of their cams and doorbell running on the annual unlimited plan and am quite pleased.
You someh0w don't remember being told the service would ALWAYS be free? Or, if you didn't switch to the paid version, being begged to please pay something, anything (which then would take you off the old plan with no subscription, so they could charge you full subscription price)? What about free person detection? They promised way more than they could sustain and then have tried to back out of it.

Welp, then don't use them. Personally, I'm quite pleased.
Yeah, what's up with the TikTok deal? I gave in and started downloading the app to get the wyze cam but stopped myself thinking: is saving a few bucks worth giving these guys access to my information?
Outdoor plugs are still $5 at many Home Depots (clearance price, YMMV on being in-stock). I have found multiple stores still have them
also check "TikTok shop". annoyingly sometimes those prices are better.
3x V3 for $70 seems ok, I'm glad they are still selling v3 at all. thought they'd shifted to OG to phase out free CamPlus Lite
I hated the v3 and returned it, the image quality especially with movement was awful. OG is much better. I don't believe any camera sold now can be used with camplus lite, they phased that out quite a while ago on new cameras.

I've got 5 cameras with SD cards and no subscription and am perfectly happy with it. Sure some features are only available to paid users but they are not main/major ones.

I have 2 Wize Pan cameras that are ALWAYS offline. Reboot and fine for a couple of hours, then back offline. They say to check power and network. Added another access point about 9 feet away and using the included power block. Nope. Swapped the power from a different Wize Came (V2 and OG). Nope. Offline.
Have automation to power cycle the unit 2x per day. It's still always offline. This is the 2nd unit. Both same issues. The OG, V2 and V3 have been great so far though.
Anyone have any tips?
Looking at the Pan V3, but hate to buy another problem.
I've had no issues like that with the Pan v3s (I have 2). There is a bug with them that their "home" position isn't always exactly the same, they creep a bit over time. They are supposedly working on firmware to try and address it but honestly it isn't that big of a deal for me, and if it is you can schedule a reboot once a day or whatever, as that resets the home position. Very happy with them.
