I wasn't arguing the merits of any of this. I was asking a genuine question.

"Company bad, bait and switch bad, etc." doesn't help anyone know whether this is an acceptable deal. Most of these companies have histories of dubious practices and bait-and-switch marketing campaigns. The question I was asking was whether today these deals were inferior or superior compared to the competition at these prices.

For the record, I downvoted this deal because I don't believe it's worth the money. Wyze used to offer much better discounts. But, given the current market, for some entry-level buyers, they might make a compelling case.

Never again Wyze. They lure you in with the feature they advertise to provide as free (completely free, not a trial period). Then BOOM, one update later, they remove it and make it part of a subscription. For example, on my wyze cam, the view video playback option, before you can view videos saved on the sd card through the app. One update later, you have to pay to see it. This is not the "cloud" option. This is videos saved locally

What are you talking about. I can still view SD card playback.

3x V3 for $70 seems ok, I'm glad they are still selling v3 at all. thought they'd shifted to OG to phase out free CamPlus Lite
I bought 3 and don't need more than 1. It was too good a price to pass on. Maybe I'll use them at some point. The one out front I use for holiday lights has been solid so far, only had some lights for Halloween and then put up icicle lights so it's not being heavily used at this point

To add, I have two cameras: one with cam plus lite and one with the annual subscription. The lite one sends notifications once per 5 minutes when it detects something, but still records continuously to a microsd card. It does 12 second videos and can detect people and so on. This is generally all you need. If you think the 12 seconds is too short, go back to the playback and record your own video from it, or just watch what was going on around that timeframe that the original recording didn't include.
Interesting. I just did this and I suppose I have 12 second recording back now. I won't be buying anything from them from this sale or the near future though. Wyze made me seriously look at alternatives such as blink which allows for local recording for free.

Yay for garage recording again I guess

I'm still using one of those old wyzecam 2 where it does record things but there is like a 5 minute stop period each time?


Anything worthwhile with this? I don't pay a monthly subscription but do have a sd card in them.

Can't pay with the Amazon Prime option! Can't see it on the final page of the checkout and thus $6 shipping totally kills a $10 item! Or buy $100 to get a free shipping!!

I purchased something on Saturday using the Prime option and it said I would receive it the next day (the 19th). I didn't. I haven't even gotten a shipping notification. The customer service has no clue, no idea when I get it, and no idea if anyone is even working on filling the order. Passing is probably a good idea.
