I am always tempted by these Uber one discounts, but I notice when I get Uber one I stop getting the good coupons for orders. And magically once my Uber one subscription expires they flood me with coupons.

Until u realize that we have been getting 40% off coupons once or twice a month for several years now, combined with gift cards deals and restaurants that don't mark up their prices, and it ends up being a slick deal. Plus great for the times where you actually use an Uber. I feel like it genuinely pays for itself

Uber Eats is a ripoff. Between the mark up on food and a bunch of made up charges, it's not worth it.

I have the Amex Platinum and I end up doing a pick up to redeem my monthly $15 credit. For $15, I get maybe $11/12 worth of food.

For about 2 years, you could stack the 40% with restaurants that did BOGO offers. Limited selection, but hoo boy was that a deal. I think they just caught on though, didn't work the last time I tried.
It really depends on the restaurant from my experience. Sometimes the free item counts towards the $25 minimum and sometimes not. I think it depends on how the promotion is setup. I've used this just recently on a BOGO offer and it worked.

Just in the app. So clearly the offer is varied depending on user.

Got it. I am in both Uber and Uber Eat apps and I am not seeing any offer. I just cancelled my Uber one last month so may be because of that.

Oh sweet, that's great to know! Definitely saddened my day a little when I thought it was gone haha, although TBH it definitely is _too_ good of a deal. The type that we rarely seem to stumble across quite as often.

Having epilepsy and unable to drive Uber one has been very tempting for a long time.

I didn't see it at first but I turned off auto renew on my monthly trial and closed the app and it appeared once I reopened the application.

After buying this deal, I went to order an Uber and it is showing 0.00 for the price. Does anyone know of this is part of the promotion (one free ride or something?) And when it expires? I have an expensive Uber trip to the train station on Monday and might save it for that, vs the small "10 dollar trip" I'm taking today

Same here. Hope those 40%/50% coupons that used to be a constant come back to my account, or else the UberOne is useless

How do you turn off auto renewal? I only see an option to cancel, and then the trial ends right then. Have to cancel 48 hours before It starts charging.

Uber automatically put 3 use promotion in my Uber Eats profile almost every Monday (usually 40% or 50% off $25+ up to $15 off) and 2 use promotion in my Postmates almost every Friday (usually $15 off $40). No code necessary. The promotions appeared in my profile almost like clockwork (there was the occasional missed week or mediocre promotion that I skipped), I clicked claim, and I redeemed religiously. This went on for years.

This past October, an 8 use 45% off $25+ up to $15, including pick up, promotion automatically appeared in my Uber Eats profile with a 3 week expiration. This appeared along side the usual 3 use 50% off $25+ up to $15 off promotion in my Uber Eats and 2 use $15 off $40 promotion in my Postmates profiles on each of those 3 weeks for a total of 23 redemptions up to $15 per redemption over 3 weeks. Midway through using these, I received the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the selected promotion vanished from my profile. The next week rolled around with new promotions and the same problem. I received the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the new promotion vanished from my profile. Support was useless so I canceled Uber One and moved on with my life.

Even at this moment, there's a 3 use 50% off $25+ up to $15 off promotion which Uber automatically put in my Uber Eats profile that I'm not even going to bother trying to use because I already know I'll receive the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the promotion will vanish from my profile.

To summarize:
  • All the promotions were provided by Uber.
  • The vast majority of promotions automatically appeared in my profile. No code necessary. No code to share.
  • Some promotions were sent by Uber Eats and Postmates by e-mail.
  • I practically never placed an order without a meaningful discount.
  • On weeks when Uber Eats or Postmates skipped or the promotion was mediocre, I turned to other food applications which also had discounts I planned to use.
I'm just not a profitable customer and I'm also no the only user on Slickdeals that Uber has shadow banned from placing orders with promotions.
Something similar happened to me 2 weeks ago. CS told me the promotion was deactivated due to breach of their terms. I wanted an explanation and the CS said "In easy words, the promotion was expired". Which was a lie.
Since then, no new promotions. I cancelled my membership yesterday.

I also had 40 and 50 pct off coupons appear in my Uber eats app but got the same error when I tried to redeem them. Very weird since I don't order delivery often, mainly use BOGO offers and pickup.
So most of the 40+% off are delivery specific, rtfm? Read the food manual for coupons they're not all the same!

I got the same thing, does this mean it's 90 days free and then discount on the 1-year sub? Meaning offer is really 15 months for $48?
