I am always tempted by these Uber one discounts, but I notice when I get Uber one I stop getting the good coupons for orders. And magically once my Uber one subscription expires they flood me with coupons.

Until u realize that we have been getting 40% off coupons once or twice a month for several years now, combined with gift cards deals and restaurants that don't mark up their prices, and it ends up being a slick deal. Plus great for the times where you actually use an Uber. I feel like it genuinely pays for itself

Uber Eats is a ripoff. Between the mark up on food and a bunch of made up charges, it's not worth it.

I have the Amex Platinum and I end up doing a pick up to redeem my monthly $15 credit. For $15, I get maybe $11/12 worth of food.

I also had 40 and 50 pct off coupons appear in my Uber eats app but got the same error when I tried to redeem them. Very weird since I don't order delivery often, mainly use BOGO offers and pickup.

So most of the 40+% off are delivery specific, rtfm? Read the food manual for coupons they're not all the same!
RTFM? It reads to me that DBT40735 tried the coupon for a delivery order, which DBT40735 doesn't do often and instead mainly uses buy 1 get 1 free offers with pickup, but this delivery order failed with the same error message I that I received.

From my anecdotal experience I get the coupons regularly once per week, but when I start using them, I get less. If I don't order for a while, I get more.
I was getting coupon every week or every other week. Since I got uber one, nothing for food.

I have placed 2 food orders in past 3 months, where as it used to be 5 per month.

Uber eats fk sucks horrible customer service when you are missing food they won't refund you good luck not a deal when you have to call them to complain and be on the call for over 30 min and they don't do anything for you
Your screwed better off using other services

Something similar happened to me 2 weeks ago. CS told me the promotion was deactivated due to breach of their terms. I wanted an explanation and the CS said "In easy words, the promotion was expired". Which was a lie.
Since then, no new promotions. I cancelled my membership yesterday.
Thank you all for confirming this. The same thing happened to me 2 weeks back. I renewed thinking something will change but I am not receiving any more promotions now. I am firmly going to cancel my membership at the end of the month.

I think this has been happening to me too. I am going to give it a little more time because I get Amex credits from Platinum every month plus I always buy discounted gift cards so I am always getting some sort of discount. Plus if I buy Uber Eats through US Bank Altitude Reserve I can use RTR to redeem the points at 1.5 per dollar. I do have two accounts I juggle to to see if I get coupons. But I am not investing in a year membership of Uber One.

I wish I could create a new account from scratch but there are too many ways they would tie them together and you need a different phone number

It's also like why bother. If Uber doesn't want our business then we don't need to give it to them. If we're not profitable customers because of their promotions then maybe don't put promotions in our profiles like clockwork. To paraphrase the movie The Big Short [imdb.com]:

I've found the exact opposite to be true. Whenever I've had an issue with an order (missing or damaged item), Ubereats has always had an immediate and satisfactory response. Doordash is hit or miss with their response and in general harder to get a hold of a response. Additionally, I find the delivery people on Ubereats to be more polite and follow directions better. I once had a Doordash driver deliver my meal to the wrong apartment building. I could see it happening in real time. I called the driver to intercept him and he said it was my fault, too bad and hung up. It took an hour to get a response from Doordash. The Doordash app is not as slick as Ubereats and they make it really difficult to contact customer service after the delivery happens. Nothing like this has ever happened with Ubereats. Having said this I still use Doordash occasionally since I have a Dashpass and promos through Chase.
Yours is anecdotal evidence. Go online. Uber Eats is the worst when it comes to reimbursing you, followed by GrubHub.

Doordash will comp your entire order 50% of the time if one item is missing. Obviously if you abuse the system you get nothing but I havent had an issue

My food is cold, missing items, incorrectly prepared = that entree or the entire meal completely free from Door Dash

Been the case for years

Is it only for new subscribers? I could not get a discount for some reason.

It's insanity…. A 40% off code on Uber Eats brings the price to the same as ordering from the restaurant and picking it up!

Can't see how anyone regularly orders through delivery apps… it's not sensible unless you are wealthy otherwise it's insane how heavily you'll balloon a food budget regularly ordering via delivery services

How to do that?

I'll add another anecdote. Whenever I've had an Uber eats issue. Sometimes cold or missing item or sometimes just took way too long I've received a prompt and complete refund. Sometimes the entire order even though my comment was only about say one item in an order. So they DO seem to be pretty responsive and accommodating.

That's why I only order when there's a coupon.

Thanks OP, rep'd. I took the annual option, I'm hoping it stacks with a capital one statement credit for the 1 payment!!!

I preferred this deal over 6 capital one statement credits. The reason for it is I've used Uber one over the years and the promos are not all the time. I think this deal is hard to pass up.

Plus it's really 13 months because you get 4 weeks free first.

I got the offer in my notifications, however the discount never applied when I went to the purchase page.

I pulled the trigger on this. Was previously paying the monthly rate so this is a no brainer. I get great value from uber one living in NYC and I continue to get the 40% off coupons pushed to me. According to my app I've saved nearly $1000 from uber promotions (I order in dinner a LOT lol). Thanks OP!
