I am always tempted by these Uber one discounts, but I notice when I get Uber one I stop getting the good coupons for orders. And magically once my Uber one subscription expires they flood me with coupons.

Until u realize that we have been getting 40% off coupons once or twice a month for several years now, combined with gift cards deals and restaurants that don't mark up their prices, and it ends up being a slick deal. Plus great for the times where you actually use an Uber. I feel like it genuinely pays for itself

Uber Eats is a ripoff. Between the mark up on food and a bunch of made up charges, it's not worth it.

I have the Amex Platinum and I end up doing a pick up to redeem my monthly $15 credit. For $15, I get maybe $11/12 worth of food.

I've found the exact opposite to be true. Whenever I've had an issue with an order (missing or damaged item), Ubereats has always had an immediate and satisfactory response. Doordash is hit or miss with their response and in general harder to get a hold of a response. Additionally, I find the delivery people on Ubereats to be more polite and follow directions better. I once had a Doordash driver deliver my meal to the wrong apartment building. I could see it happening in real time. I called the driver to intercept him and he said it was my fault, too bad and hung up. It took an hour to get a response from Doordash. The Doordash app is not as slick as Ubereats and they make it really difficult to contact customer service after the delivery happens. Nothing like this has ever happened with Ubereats. Having said this I still use Doordash occasionally since I have a Dashpass and promos through Chase.
I've ordered countless times on Uber eats and a few times on DD, Uber eats is consistently better for me and my wife. For all categories too

Uber automatically put 3 use promotion in my Uber Eats profile almost every Monday (usually 40% or 50% off $25+ up to $15 off) and 2 use promotion in my Postmates almost every Friday (usually $15 off $40). No code necessary. The promotions appeared in my profile almost like clockwork (there was the occasional missed week or mediocre promotion that I skipped), I clicked claim, and I redeemed religiously. This went on for years.

This past October, an 8 use 45% off $25+ up to $15, including pick up, promotion automatically appeared in my Uber Eats profile with a 3 week expiration. This appeared along side the usual 3 use 50% off $25+ up to $15 off promotion in my Uber Eats and 2 use $15 off $40 promotion in my Postmates profiles on each of those 3 weeks for a total of 23 redemptions up to $15 per redemption over 3 weeks. Midway through using these, I received the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the selected promotion vanished from my profile. The next week rolled around with new promotions and the same problem. I received the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the new promotion vanished from my profile. Support was useless so I canceled Uber One and moved on with my life.

Even at this moment, there's a 3 use 50% off $25+ up to $15 off promotion which Uber automatically put in my Uber Eats profile that I'm not even going to bother trying to use because I already know I'll receive the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the promotion will vanish from my profile.

To summarize:
  • All the promotions were provided by Uber.
  • The vast majority of promotions automatically appeared in my profile. No code necessary. No code to share.
  • Some promotions were sent by Uber Eats and Postmates by e-mail.
  • I practically never placed an order without a meaningful discount.
  • On weeks when Uber Eats or Postmates skipped or the promotion was mediocre, I turned to other food applications which also had discounts I planned to use.
I'm just not a profitable customer and I'm also no the only user on Slickdeals that Uber has shadow banned from placing orders with promotions.
I had the exact same issue in the exact same time frame. I'm actually on the 6 month free uberone membership from capitalone. I'm fairly certain the issue was that they had a rough set of earnings and cut out promotions for unprofitable accounts immediately. Makes perfect sense as all the reports claimed to have been ordering off their promos strictly.

I believe Uber continues to taunt us with promotions that we can't redeem in the hopes that we'll attempt to order, receive the message "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order", and check out anyway.

Percentage off is a gimmick.

Basically 90 days free from today and $48 for 1 year (from Feb 2024 to Feb 2025)
This looks like a good offer to me.

Can't get the 90 days free if you currently have Uber One right?

To those who really care about Uber One/using ubereats often, I'd suggest signing up for the capital one savor one card instead of this deal.
Free uber one subscription until next year, and you get 10% cashback for Ubereats, uber, postmates..

I 100% agree with this… at $60 or less per year this is worth it. I'm just having trouble biting at $100. If my account gets this offer I'm signing back up. For some restaurants it ends up being cheaper than actually going of you maximize it. For example with the 40% off I order items that reheat well and also get kids meals to save a few. Plus the gift card deals. However I do not use Uber for some of my locally owned restaurants because of the fees they get charged.
Then a lot of time they have bogo offers you can stack with 40% off. I have fed myself for days on like 40 bucks

Nah, compared to the mark up with door dash, Uber One is quite good

If I signed up this 90 days + $48 offer, could I cancel before the $48 start to charge? In case I don't use it later.
