Definitely not all, I personally had a ThinkPad Yoga S1 with a matte finish. Of course, it was just a non-removable display cover, yet it is still there, and I can't see a single scratch on it even after years of abusive use.

So the lenovo website has the 14 inch version of this (I'm torn between the smaller footprint vs the bigger screen) for 580 (600 minus 20 if you spend over 500 coupon that's stackable). The screen is smaller but is (2240 x 1400) instead of 1920 x 1200. Price on one is 550 bc I don't have the best buy total membership etc but wouldn't entirely mind having it, or 580 through Lenovo for the slightly smaller one with what I believe is a better resolution. What are the thoughts between the two?

TBH, for Netflix or YouTube either screen will do a superb job unless you get to the realm of 4k (2160p) where you'll then notice some sharpness, and even then you won't notice it as much as if you were comparing a desktop monitor 24" 4k vs 32" 4k due to its size difference and pixel density. Our eyes can only see so much when the size of the display gets shrunk down to a laptop size. Colors and brightness and viewing angles on the other hand are more noticeable and plays a role in decision making when making 🍎 to 🍏 comparisons. For this price difference of $30 (in your case) you are better off stashing the savings for another time or grab a Bluetooth mouse for convenience.
