Would definitely get this if this had USB-C charging. Just that e-waste from big charging bricks.

my dell with a 10th gen intel does not specifically say it can charge usbc and came with a normal dell brick
but it will charge when i plug in a usbc and the symbol next to is is only the dp logo.
hard to believe this wont do the same thing, but i dont have any proof
this is a great price for a 12th gen but ive grown to accustomed to touch screens in my laptops

Thanks to both of you. As soon as mine arrives I'll be doing this.

Will Windows activate automatically and apply the original OEM serial number upon boot-up after the new installation from the iso, or do I need to obtain a separate new retail Windows11 serial number for activation? I'm hoping to prevent any unknown "surprises"....

Thanks again, and reps 4 you.
Yeah the activation will be fine - skip entering any product key during clean install, and after the installation is completed, the new Windows 11 will be automatically activated once you connect to Internet and stay connected for a while.

This is very good advice. Please guide us with directions on how to do this adjustment.

The video I used on the one I did a couple years back is here:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FsVWQoaZNls
That video is good, but over-complicated on what needs to be done to adjust the hinges.

The back of the laptop does not need to come off, or any wires disconnected or removed.

Simply pry off the hinge covers, and using needle nose pliers, loosen the hinge nuts slightly to reduce the over-torqued tension that is done at the factory. The hinge covers press right back on afterwards.

This or the Lenovo deal?
i3 verse ryzen 5, according to the internet the Intel chip is better based on the info below...
it's for general use... No gaming. Just torrents, word, browsing...

Why is Intel Core i3-1215U better than AMD Ryzen 5 5500U?

934MHz higher ram speed

?
5200MHzvs4266MHz

0.4GHz higher turbo clock speed

?
4.4GHzvs4GHz

2MB bigger L3 cache

?
10MBvs8MB

1 newer version of PCI Express (PCIe)

?
4vs3

37.89% higher PassMark result (single)

?
3392vs2460

Uses big.LITTLE technology

?

1 Higher version of DDR memory supported

?
5vs4

1 more displays supported

?
4vs3
This i3 has ddr4 2666… slow.

i3-1215u can support up to DDR4 3200 OR DDR5.

Check the reviews online. Some are based on the i3-1215u with DDR5 (faster).

i3-1215u has 2 Performance (fast cores) and 4 baby (slow) cores. (8 threads)

Ryzen has 6 "Performance" (fast) cores. 12 threads.

You can't compare Intel cpu cache with Ryzen cache.

You are getting a gimped experience with this Intel setup.

Received delivery yesterday and installed fresh copy of Windows 11 from Microsoft website using the Rufus tool as mentioned in an earlier message. However I ran into an issue during the setup process as Setup needed me to go online and it won't show me any wifi connections as the wifi driver didn't seem to have installed in the default Windows 11 install. I attempted to bypass the online requirement after googling about this issue and the workarounds that have been suggested (using Shift F10 and then killing the online process) have been plugged by microsoft and no longer work. Luckily I had a USB ethernet cable and using that was able to complete the setup. So be aware and don't get stuck during the Fresh Windows 11 install. If anyone has better workarounds, please suggest as it would help others who attempt this install and get stuck as they can't go online.
I did notice my memory utilization go down from 70% (With original installed version of Windows 11) to 50% after installing the new version. Checked the windows activation status and it did show that it was activated based on the digital license associated with my email id used to login.

Go to Bios ->Storage. Under SATA/NVME the Default is set to RAID on. Select AHCI/NVMe. Click Apply at the bottom and exit. You should now be able to see the drives during Windows Setup.

That's why we need to get rid of anti regulation Republicans.

Europe forcing manufacturers to use USBC charging which is great. Democrats want to do the same in the US but rich lobbyists on Republican side don't allow it. They love e-waste and more profit.

My new Chinese shaver is USBC, is Philips going to follow?, I wish my sonic toothbrush was USBC. When I travel , carrying all these dumb chargers is a mess.
