there are too many different models. dumb of dyson to make so many models. how many models does one need? they don't they just do two, one high end one low end? there are dozens of dyson vacuums. really dumb and makes it confusing. it shouldn't be so confusing to buy a vacuum. making me consider buying another type of vacuum.

Where'd you get them from? What failed? My refurb V6 has lasted 5 years now and I wish it would die so I could justify a new one.

Such an awful take. Less options and choices for the consumer is never a better thing.

I'm torn between the v11 on qvc with 15% cb (roughly $240 after CB before tax), or a v8 absolute in this thread for $280 with 15% cb on dyson. Both roughly the same price.
I have hardwood floors. I also have heard of the battery hack on the v8 being great.

I'm so ready to pull the trigger on the v11, but didn't want battery replacement costs in 2 years or risk to my hardwood floor. I know they have attachments sold separately, but that adds to the cost.

v8 worth it over the v11?

Dyson makes it extremely easy. You can easily compare the machines on their website and they even have a little quiz you can take and it recommends a couple models that would work for you.
No, they don't. You obviously have not spent time on their website. It's an awful website and it does NOT make it easy to compare the vacuums. Why you gotta come in here and lie?

Now that dyson direct is $500 - racuten 15% and I have another 2% off from Amex it would be $415. What's a better deal?

Is Costco returns plus attachments worth $85 more?

You should know the battery is replaceable and replacing one is like 20-30 usd at Amazon if you are a handyman.
I have bought 3 with good reviews and they only last about a year.

Thanks for the link. This does help. But I could not find this anywhere on their website. I still can't.

Where was it at the top of their site? I see My Dyson, Find a store, Register machine, For business, and Dyson Renewal. None of those take me to this link to help me choose a vacuum. I clicked vacuum cleaners and don't see anything there either. But the tool does exist, it's just extremely hard to find. And the tool is not even good, to be honest. It just recommends which one I should buy without telling me the differences. Amazon does a slightly better job by breaking it out in a chart compared to other Dysons, but not all. Amazon is doing a better job than Dyson of explaining the differences. SMH

My refurb V6 battery died twice. After buying a battery converter using my DeWalt batteries, I am still a happy user

More choice can be a good thing but there are limits to that. There should be more than 1 vacuum to choose from in the market. But artificially-segmenting a product line along minute differences is an economic inefficiency because time wasted trying to arrive at a choice could be better spent elsewhere.

The website isn't that helpful. Try this instead:
https://moderncastle.com/dyson-v1...v10-vs-v8/

Also if you find this annoying you should try choosing an electric shaver. Equally dumb ambiguous choices.

what vacuum is good? I have a crappy stick one that sucks.
I've tried a bunch; Samsung is the best imo… they don't really have a good deal right now but the vacuum + clean station is awesome

without a doubt if that battery dies early.
