Isn't season 2 and 0 on sale too?
If you've never played a "legacy" board game before, Pandemic Legacy Season 1 is one of the best. You play the game once over multiple sessions, slowly rolling out a story unique to your group. While you could play it with smaller groups, ideally you'll want 3 to 4 people who hang out together regularly.
This is a fantastic game and I cannot recommend it enough. If you play it and love it, I would encourage you to then try Clank Legacy.
You're welcome in advance.

I don't know they would because legacy games take a while, like months to years (depending on your group) to complete. The people you start with are the people you have to end with. So your schedules have to match, you have to be available at the sane time, etc.
My group of 4 decided to have kids during the actual pandemic, so we've been playing Pandemic legacy season 1 for 4 years now.
Yeah....
Edit : Clank is fun even without the legacy aspect.
