yup, thats usually a big red flag. either it has no surge protection at all or the bare minimum of about 300 joules. i looked over the web page and user manual and even tried searching "B095XBHVF2" but didnt find any specific information in regards to the surge protection either.
I find it interesting that this device is cheaper than Amazon's smart plug which only has one outlet.
This is actually what drew my attention. The compact smart plug obviously might create a less messy installation than a power strip. However, this strip provides three (3) independently controllable outlets which can also be grouped at a remarkably low price for an Amazon-branded product.
A couple of the video reviews highlight the rear markings which indicate Voltage Protection Rating numbers (1200V) but neither the rear markings nor the listing on Intertek ETL confirm a listing for this device under UL-1449 so I'm unclear as to how/why this device claims surge protection. The good news story is that the Intertek ETL listing does at least cover UL 1363 (relocatable taps).
