Amazon charges you tax.

But buying from within the console charges NO tax, because every Nintendo Switch sold is coincidentally being used in an Oregon zip code. Zero exceptions. It's a geological wonder.

Not to mention various ways to get cheaper eShop credit that can be used...

PSA - if let membership lapse over 6 months Nintendo will wipe away all your cloud data. I took a break from gaming then return to find out this. All my smash bro unlocks … gone. BOTW with fully collected yahaha's… gone.

My own fault for not checking the terms but I just assumed once I pay again they'd recover my saves but no it's actually wiped from their servers. Just so people are aware.

This is the biggest factor preventing me from picking up a switch again.

Wait is this saying that my spouse and I on the same switch, but two separate accounts, need to go with the $31 family membership for us both to have access to anything "online"? I remember this being $20. A 50%+ hike!

Yes.

It was $20 a few times (from what I recall) when there was a price mistake. NSO has normally been $20 for single memberships.

After purchasing, how long do we have to redeem the code before it is invalid?

The Switch won't be opened until Christmas. I'd rather not burn a month buying it on Black Friday if I have to use the code right now.

What does renewing an NSO+Expansion individual membership with this do? Does it prorate the subscription or renew simply the NSO part without the expansion? Or nothing at all?

This is exactly why everything should have always been physical only. Digital games, digital stream gaming, digital cloud saves and DLC are the absolute worst.

Cheers. Honestly my switch has been collecting dust lately. Haven't beaten Pokemon legends Arceus OR scarlet, haven't beaten breath of the wild, picked up Xenoblade chronicles definitive and then abandoned that too lol.

This is a me problem let's be clear, but between my pc and ps5 my poor switch is getting underutilized. I need to spend some time with it and get back into the Nintendo magic.

Unfortunately not, the dlc is tied to the expansion subscription. You have to buy it separately per game if you want permanent access..
