To answer the common questions:

- Backlit chicklet keyboard
- Barrel connector charging
- Memory seems soldered in, but has 1 additional available slot

This chip is faster than the 12th gen i5, but slower than the 13th gen, while being better on power. I really wish this had USB C charging.

For a typical use daily driver, this is a heckuva deal for the price.

RAM: ASUS official page even says 1 available SDRAM slot. Maybe it's on the hidden side of the mainboard. I've come across that design a couple of times in the past.
HDMI: 1.4 is a bit disappointing, but if you're not light gaming, you won't hit this wall.
Weight: 3.7 lbs,... just a tad heavy, but not
Display: ...and 600 nits OLED?! <drool... .> on-battery duration will suffer but imho, well worth the trade-off.
Ports: 3.1 is insufferable if accustomed to 3.2 or faster. However, in my experience, substantial dependency on attached storage is not typical use.
CPU & Storage: both reasonably snappy. Combine with 16GB, you're good for 3+ years easy for typical use.
Charge Method: Imho, the barrel connector charge is just not that big of a liability given this price-for-performance. That's what we're accustomed to anyway.

All that said, I remain baffled: why so little love?

Damn oled screen and upgradable ram slot for $450 seems too good to be true, what's the catch?

I have a (slightly) older Vivobook 14 Pro and can vouch for it's good build quality and incredible screen. However YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT UPGRADE THE RAM. On mine at least. I mean, hypothetically you could break out a soldering iron but I wouldn't risk bricking it.
Still, $400 is a steal.

Agreed, but if you can spend 50$ more for the option for potential gaming, video editing, multiple monitors, or even resale value down the road.. not hating, I just want the best deal even if I gotta go to Best buy for the open box 👍😊
Granted. If this unit had a halfway decent d-gpu for +50$, 100 units would sell out in about 15 min.

Does anyone know if the screen is glossy or matte. Glossy means it is not read friendly during day time, right?

Doesn't seem like a great payment option, but for some may be worth for the discount:

An installment fee may apply. For example, for a $200 purchase, you'd make four $51 payments every two weeks starting today for a 34.7% annual percentage rate and a total of payments of $204. A $4 installment fee is charged at commencement - you pay $1 of this fee as a prepaid finance charge when you make your initial payment today. The remaining $3 is included in your future payments. Fees can range from $0 to $7.50 depending on the purchase price. Actual amount of fee for your purchase will be reflected in checkout. Estimation of installment payment and annual percentage rate excludes potential tax and shipping costs.

Payment methods that are not accepted:

Pre-paid or reloadable credit/debit cards
Example: cards that can be purchased from a retail store
PayPal®
Venmo
Cash App Card
ACH bank transfers (Direct Debit)
Money orders, cash or cash equivalents
Capital One has made a decision to block their credit cards from being used to make Zip purchases.

This isn't a vivobook pro. This does have a free ram slot.

When will Amazon come back in stock? Really don't like the restocking fee from Newegg.

I think it's an awesome deal. A great in bed video player with that gorgeous and surprisingly bright OLED. Totally capable basic pc too like you mentioned. Great option

Hows the build quality on this? I had a ASUS laptop years ago and the build was horrible. From youtube videos, this model seems good but curious on maybe the long term of the hinge etc?

Also any info on how the ZIP payments work? Can I just pay it all off or is it gonna force me to pace out my payments?

I agree with all your points. I think the HP is better built, pretty stiff (feels more aluminum to me) when I tried to flex base and screen top in store. Adding RAM is no big deal. Wish it wasn't black/grey but silver color. OLED screen is nice. Tough call still.
TheBeginningBattery life on amd is way better now after Intel blocked undervolting.
Intel blocking undervolting really messed up my 8th gen intel inspiron laptop. Used to be pretty quick with undervolt, now stutters as the processor heats up too quick and the fan in the laptop is too small and unable to keep up with the rising temperature so the laptop throttles quickly after load. And yes, I did try replacing the CPU paste with something better than what came from factory. Bit on this deal as not only is this laptop more power efficient and faster than my current 8th gen but also has the OLED screen with really good color gamut which will help me as my work increasingly requires me to edit photos and analyze images.
By the way I found a really great review of a similar laptop, appears to be a Euorpe or Asia model so a few things may be different: Asus VivoBook 15X OLED M3504 Laptop Review: Capable daily driver with AMD Ryzen Barcelo-R and OLED - NotebookCheck.net Reviews
The article describes how the MyAsus software in this laptop has a setting to prevent burn-in, it does not describe how exactly it does it though, but I imagine it automatically sets up a screen saver or/and dims the display if you forget it and the screen remains showing a static image for a prolonged period of time

My guess is that the usb-c port is data and power delivery (PD) only, and does not support Displayport alt-mode, as it's not mentioned in the specs, but I'm not 100% certain.
