I will say, I just experienced my first direct dealings with Samsung to purchase an S9 ultra. I've been holding out since the s8 ultra was announced and finally hit my mark with some weird pricing through their app that made the 512gb s9 ultra under $800.

After 12 mysteriously cancelled purchases in a row, 6 or 7 chat conversations with "customer service" agents who refused to answer any questions or provide any service other than aggressively push for me to agree to purchase a cart they "built" with "great deals" where I couldn't even see the price.... 3 phone calls where I sat on hold (even though they called ME) for 20 minutes just to have a machine hang up on me... and several pending charges on my credit card that are taking an awfully long time to go away:

I finally managed to give them my money. And honestly I want to return it just from the experience of trying to buy it.

Considering that all this was the experience of trying to GIVE them money, I can only imagine what it would be like if I was trying to get my money back.
Will this drop anymore for Black Friday?
Was wanting this but I hear Samsung customer service is trash

Pixel shift every few minutes is noticeable, it may be annoying to some who are more OCD. This monitor does not have pixel refresh.

Text fringe can actually be mitigated with max brightness. I don't have any issues with it after tuning the brightness. Low brightness yeah, the text fringe is unbearable.

Crap. This is my use case too. I understand the first gen was bad, I thought they improved it in this one. 😞
It is improved but it's not gone. It's better than first gen was though. What they really need is for MS to update Cleartype to have a QD-OLED setting.

text fringe is terrible. if you're looking at text all day, you don't want a qd-oled as a main working monitor. I've given it a fair try and the "blurry/soft" text made me constantly rub my eyes. for media/gaming consumption, qd-oled is great though.

What would you recommend for a good work monitor in ultra wide screen size ?

Anyone got theirs yet and have an issue with monitor being crooked (tilted right or left?). There's no left or right tilt adjustment and my stand supporting the monitor is slightly angled to the right. Since the monitor is too wide, the tilt gets exaggerated quite a bit especially at the ends of the monitor. Right side is about 1.5" lower than the left side of the screen.

Gonna have to go back to Best Buy to see if they'll give me a new stand. They'll probably end up giving me a new monitor entirely but I just really need a stand that works.

Want to pull the trigger so bad. Just built a 13700k 4090 pc and am still using 2 - 1080p monitors from 2013-2014 rofl. I was looking for a 4k curved big monitor but this feels pretty close. 1000 is basically at the upper limit I want to spend

Could put it on my Amazon store card to pay off over 12 months to not feel as bad about it.

How game changing is this gonna be from 2 standard 27in 1920x1080p monitors? Will my eyes go into shock?

if you don't want to use oled than the tried and true king is the 3821dw for curved ultrawide imo.

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/a...ccessories

it's $800 right now so if you can stack amex cashback ($120 off 600+ or $40 off $200) and search for other cashbacks that are offering up to 15% right now - it'll bring down the monitor quite a bit.

For instance: 800+tax = 887 - $120 amex & $120 cashback from other sites = 647 out of pocket.

There is s setting to turn off the pixel shift if you want to. I'm also using it for productivity, so I haven't turned it off.

Going to clean up desktop icons and change backgrounds on occasion. I don't use the OS window snap options, because those are still too large for each window, so I won't have to worry about those features being an issue over time. Maybe that will change with win11 though..

For work and productivity would the costco deal be better than this one? I'm reading that this isn't the best for work and more for gaming

Got mine replaced at BestBuy, the G95SC, and it works perfectly. I like that it does not turn on automatically when I turn my computer on. I had issues in the previous 49" monitor (CRG9) where it would not switch to the correct input.

Having the remote is nice. I can turn my computer on, turn the monitor and switch to the correct input in just seconds. Can turn the monitor off when away from desk.

There are some complaints about the text being bad... I had to use Microsoft's Windows ClearType calibration feature to eliminate any color fringing on text and its working perfect.

This is the most in-depth review and calibration of the monitor (S95 smart version, but probably works for this too). Scroll down to the end to see calibration settings if skipping the review. https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/...ed-Content
