Anyway, I bought this laptop from Newegg at $1599 and can confirm it is the 12900HX, not the 12900H.

From what I read, the main downside of this laptop is the low quality screen. That's ok with me since I use it as a desktop replacement but obviously important for others.

Interesting that even the promotional images say 12900H though.
Any downsides? I had a bad experience with the hinges of my MSI laptop.

Feel free to add this to your post if you want to Doc, but I don't know if there is a code to bring it down to the same price for this although it is also from NewEgg as a 3P seller.
If you're going to go for a budget gaming laptop then go AMD, something like this:
