I have a Polar watch and my intervals are 1 minute hard, and then one minute easy, and the watch beeps at every minute.
I like the Garmin very much for a long battery, but 245 doesn't have the AMOLED display and is not a smart watch. I use my Garmin mostly for running.
One thing I don't like about the Garmin Company itself is that they don't take trade-in for upgrade. Thus, you might have to stuck with your old Garmin when you want to go for better one or an upgrade. With Samsung Watch, I only simply do a trade-in for an upgraded product if there is a new release.

Just wanted to throw that information out there for people who are looking for new tech. It's going to cost more for the Gen 5 sensor, so it's not going to be an easy decision for everyone.
The 45 has jagged paths and track runs have some variance. The 55 is dead on, smooth tracking on the track or for cross country practice/meets through the woods.

Elevate 4 performs just as accurate as 5th one. In steady pace and intervals they both show same reading in all sessions. The only difference is when doing short fast sprint intervals, the elevate 5 with more led picks up the sudden heart rate change a bit faster than elevate 4. Other than that, both are equally good.
And yes only elevate 5 can do ecg reading.

so how does Garmin Venu 2 plus, a elevate V4 watch, can do ECG, and is the first garmin watch to do ECG?
this is a money grab, pure and simple. Garmin doesn't want to certify other devices now that newer version of those devices are out. if Venu 2 plus can do it, so can just about EVERY elevate V4 sensor watch
