T-Mobile Apple Watch SE or Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Free After 24 Months Credits When you Add a Digits Line (Plus BOGO 50% Off Smartwatch Lines)

I have a T-Mobile for Business account and was purchasing a couple apple watches for my kids when my account rep told me about these promotions.

When you add a new digits/smartwatch line for $15, T-Mobile will credit your account up to $300 over 24 months. Additionally, if you add two digits/smartwatch lines, the second line is 50% off and you get another $300 in credits over 24 months.

So, in my situation, I will be getting two Apple Watch SE (gen 2) Wifi and Cellular watches for free via bill credits, plus two digits lines for a net increase in my bill of $22.50 total. As long as you don't care to upgrade the watches for a couple years, it seems like a no-brainer. Thought I would pass it along to anyone else interested.

I'll attach screenshots of the actual promotions sent by my rep.

I keep thinking about lte on watch, but in 10 years of owning a smart watch I've been in a situation where that would have been helpful maybe twice. Even at $10/mo/line (I think it's $15/mo to qualify for this promotion) that's $120/year or $180 @ $15/mo. I really struggle to think of use cases for lte watches.
Some of us get the cellular version just for the emergency services ability. You do NOT need to pay for a watch plan to be able to call 911. On cellular versions of Apple Watch just hold your side button for 5 seconds in an emergency and it will connect to 911. I've been told it takes an extra couple of seconds to connect call as the watch has to identify best network before call begins.

For me, the LTE version was good for my preteen kids. They could update the parents when plans changed and I didn't have to commit to giving them their own phones yet.
This is my use case too. I looked at the free watch deal but the $15 digits line instead of the $5 line he's on now meant that you were paying $240 for the watch in the end and there were lots of cheaper options for getting him a watch.

I think this is T-Mobile for Business only. If I could get 2 watch lines and 2 watches and get credits for a watch and credits for a line then I'd be all in on that.

I am not on a business plan but I do see the offer in my account. $450 credits for Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 43mm. With $35 activation, tax, and $15 premium service, it would add up to ~$450 over two years, so effectively the watch would be free. However, I wonder if cancelling the premium service after 2 years would have any impact to the remainder of my contract, especially the two free lines.

So it's $15/month per line AFTER $5 autopay discount? I was assuming it was $15 pre and $10/month after the autopay discount.

Just tried on my account. Yes it is $20/month pre and $15/month after $5 autopay discount. Tax on full amount + $35 Device Connection Fee = ~$70 due immediately. $15 x 24 = $360. So you're paying about $450 for a SE 44mm or about $415 for SE 40mm over time.
Note: When I canceled and went back to the watch, a banner popped up for save $35 off the DCC + 2-day free shipping.
Still doesn't seem worth it for only 1 watch. Maybe if you want 2 watches for $22.50/month.

Thanks for sharing! These promotions work only for when you have an existing phone line correct? I'm trying to get one for my son without a phone and I don't think I can use these promotions there. I do have a T-Mobile connection.

Remember watch is not a standalone phone

I went to a tmobile store that owned by the tmobile company. According to the salesman it's 2 lines plus 2 se40mm for 22.5 a month , and you don't need business account, she confirmed the price with store manager. Also you can get the activeation fee waived , just ask for it, BUT when I called customer service, i was told it's you have to pay for the line 2 service, but I feel that person wasn't professional. So double check yourself. After all I didn't get the deal

I agree with this analysis. We are using these as an alternative to cell phones (God forbid my preteens have access to cell phones), so it made sense to us since we needed the lines of service anyway.
Attempting to do the same delay of phones for our preteens. Went to Tmobile and they said the promo wouldn't work with standalone lines. Did you link the watch lines to your phone number? They were suggesting if we did link to ours, the kids would then be getting our texts/calls.

Does your child have a T-Mobile digits line for $5 for the smartwatch? So makes more sense to buy your smartwatch and get this $5 plan. Do they still have the $5 plan or is it $10 now?

As far as I could tell the DIGITS line is $15 a month. That's what my son's watch ended up on when I just went through the Apple wizard when setting up his watch. I called in and CS was able to switch me to a plan that should be $5 a month but I haven't gotten that first bill at that rate yet. I don't see what value DIGITS provides for a stand alone watch line so I consider it just $10 a month extra to get the watch deal which basically means paying $240 for an Apple Watch SE which isn't a great deal. In the end I picked up something used locally for him and it was much cheaper.

I need the apple watch with heart monitor. My rep said I could do $22/mo for the Apple Watch 9 for 24 mos plus $15/mo unlimited data (or $10 for limited). He also said there's a promo for "free" Apple Watch SE with new line and with purchase of Watch 9. So just the $15/10.

Is it a better deal to ask him about these promos you posted? I feel like I'm doing toilet paper math. Smilie
