Oh nice! Now I have to decide between this and the 32" 6k monitor Dell makes… I hope this stays at this price for a few days so I can see if Dell is discounting theirs.

I am curious, I dont see it listed, is this IPS, VA, or OLED?

NVM: its IPS according to Rtings [rtings.com]- No HDR support

Before anyone comes in here to say this price is ridiculous for a monitor, make punches at Apple, or whatnot—please just don't. Take your opinions elsewhere and let people just enjoy a discount on an otherwise usually-more-expensive Apple product.

Yes it's expensive. Yes you can find a cheaper monitor elsewhere. But I have this (and tried and returned a bunch of others) and can honestly say this is a best in class 5K monitor in its own right, and anyone who is interested in one probably has their own reasons. Leave them alone.

You're shopping from Costco, too, so at least you hopefully get some added peace of mind. In 2023, yes it's still expensive. But in my experience, worth every penny for the quality and ease of use in the Apple ecosystem.

I was on the fence for a long time, because I also use a windows workstation . Do you know if this monitor play well if I connect to a Mac and a windows machine and then switch in between?

I don't have experience with using the Studio Display with Windows, but I have heard there sometimes are issues with connectivity. However, it should be able to work, according to some quick online searches I did Smilie

For those wondering who buys this, there isn't another comparable alternative for those of us that work in the daylight (600nits) and want high density (+200ppi) and good color at the $1-2k price range.

Really glad Apple made this for my day-job/office use.

I use something else for gaming and something else for watching movies and something else for reading books and something else for carrying with me. Every screen has it's purpose.

Great price but I'm holding out for their VESA mount version for the same price point. Has anyone gone through switching out the stand with a VESA mount and can share their experience, or have any idea on if there's a cost? I read somewhere you need to take it into an Apple store as the stand/mount is part of the entire back panel?

Me too but the VESA never goes on sale Frown

You have take the Studio to Genius Bar and they'll swap it to VESA mount for $119. Too much of a hassle for me and some reported the swap took weeks but might be faster now with upgrade kit more readily available.

I run Paralells Desktop with Windows 11 ARM and that works perfectly with my Studio Display. I've heard you can hook up Studio Display to a PC that supports DisplayPort, the caveat being that you have minimal control over brightness, speaker volume and the webcam won't work I think.

I've had mine since it was also $1349 this summer on Amazon and absolutely love it paired with my 14" MBP! I bought the $49.99/yr AppleCare+ so hopefully can keep this sucker going for the next decade lol.

NoMachine called - they wanted to let you know that even if you buy this, 4k on a remote machine will look like crap, regardless of the OS.

Dear Apple: Just bring back really farking huge iMacs and stop being jackasses about using Macs as add-on monitors for other machines.

Phenomenal display for PROFESSIONALS not consumers. I think that's the hang up a lot of people have here. Apple slaps "pro" on so much stuff, this really should be PRO.
