As the title says, the deal is back at Costco for Black Friday time.
Note, the only "special" thing about it is that it comes with 2 Black ink bottles.

These do not use traditional cartridges, and instead uses refillable tanks, which you fill with a bottle. No guesswork - the bottles are notched in a way that you can't fill the wrong color (if you buy original Epson ink).
Plenty of generic inks available as well.
Additionally, if you are into crafts/sublimation, you can get inks from
InkOwl [inkowl.com] for example, and use those + thermal transfer paper to "screen print" onto T-Shirts.
Source: Proud owner of an Epson ET-8550 that was hacked into a sublimation printer. Way cheaper than paying for Sawgrass and having to use their proprietary inks. We use this
heat press [amazon.com] but there are
plenty of options [amazon.com] starting with Cricut and ending with commercial-looking machines.
How to convert instructions:
https://www.inkowl.com/page/convertdesktopsub/ and don't forget the ICC profile for it, it makes a big difference for the right color reproduction.
Full disclosure: I used MSRP that is set by Epson (which is meaningless), but it's been around $220 for non-special edition a few times. So take it for what it's worth.
Final edit: Sublimation ink lets you heat-transfer onto tumblers. I attached the one my wife made for me as an image. I am a tennis crazy person

So my advice is with any printer is to print a test page once a week.
WhatIS model name and # for "higher end" version of this printer please?
EcoTank ET-4850.
Basically, it has a duplex feed scanner, which had been a huge deal for us at one point.
