There is the Asus Tuf A16 for $750 at Best Buy [bestbuy.com] with a worse cpu but a better screen, battery, 16GB memory, and graphics that are a little better than the 4050 in many games. It can apparently run hot though and can have wi-fi issues which is why I skipped it but it's the next best thing at the moment unless you have a Microcenter nearby.
Edit: I think the LOQ 15 has 2 memory slots with one empty on the 8GB version so you could just buy another 8GB stick for $20 or so. That's the route I'm going since I'd rather have the LOQ over the Tuf. Still not getting the 1TB SSD (the one at Best Buy is 512GB) but I can upgrade that down the road if I need to.

Picked up two, upped the RAM to 32GB 5600 CL46 (~$80), added a 2TB SSD, and swapped the WiFi card to an Intel AX210 (~$14).
