However the Wyze Cam v3 that you are referring to does have free Cam Plus Lite [wyze.com] support. (Basically free AI person detection). The Wyze Cam Pan v3 does not ergo it's debatable what is the better deal; I guess it depends on what your needs are. I would agree with you though that the V3 2 pack for $35 is the better bargain overall.
Incidentally, Tinycam Pro [amazon.com] supports LAN live view monitoring for most Wyze Cameras. This means you can make Wyze cameras into IP LAN cameras that don't need access to internet. (You will need internet access initially though to register/activate the cams via the Wyze app and Tinycam Pro)
Wyze Bridge [github.com] will also make these camera compatible with NVRs but my preferred method for live LAN viewing is using Tinycam on an old Firestick; works out well for me.

I now realize that you were referring to V2 pan and not the V3 deal for $35 that has no pan or tilt ; my mistake and disregard all that crap lol. At least the Tinycam info could prove useful though...
The tracking is best thought of as a way to reposition the camera on the fly automatically for a target, and hope they don't move too fast/too much. Ideally an area that isn't too high traffic. When pointed outwards to my road the camera would constantly scan back and forth depending on sensitivity settings like a golden retriever (squirrel!) at anything that moved and hold for some time in last known position, taking the camera away momentarily from where I really need it to be watching.
YMMV, but IMO this is a niche security camera product. Amazing for price for the panning/tracking. Tons of features are hidden behind subscription paywall, be advised.
Also, that v2 price was last year, not right now. Currently the lowest I could find for v2 is around $40-43 each (outside of shady shops).

V3s also support free person detection and 12 second event cloud recording via Cam Plus Lite [wyze.com]. Don't confuse the Pan V3 with the standard V3 as the Pan V3 does not support Cam Plus Lite.
A good combo that works for me is 24/7 recording on a 128GB MicroSD with Person Detection via Cam Plus Lite. I have four V3s and three V2s live streaming via Tinycam Pro on an old 1080p Firestick that have been working great for months now.
You can get Tinycam Pro [amazon.com] for free by spending the free digital points that you earn when choosing slow shipping if you have Amazon Prime; that's what I did. IMO Tinycam Pro is a must for Wyze cameras as it makes them so much more useful.
It seems like extra work to turn on my tv and change my input on my tv and then load the tiny pro app on Amazon tv so I must be missing something. Thanks.

I utilize an old 1080p Firestick and attach it to a cheap monitor which is used exclusively for security camera viewing purposes. You don't want to be switching back and forth between watching content and viewing the cameras.
You can create a decent security setup IMO by buying a cheap $15 Firestick, attach that to an old HDMI monitor and use the Tinycam app to have it display/stream 24/7 your Wyze security cameras.
You can also use cheap refurbished/used Fire Tablets that have Tinycam installed to have mini wireless security camera viewing stations throughout your home. Basically Tinycam allows you to repurpose old Amazon Fire Sticks and Tablets to make them decent 24/7 IP security cam viewing devices.
Another plus is that you can add other IP CAMs in addition to Wyze (Mix&Match); Tinycam supports most IP cameras. (Not battery powered CAMs though; power has to be hardwired)

So fire stick is so you can live view/monitor on a tv?
For the v2 via tiny cam pro, is the cam using custom firmware? Is the v2 then only viewed on lan, and no longer accessible via internet?

You can use the V2s, V3s, Pan V2, Pan V3, OG, pretty sure the Pan V1 and V1 as well but never got around to trying those on TinyCam

I also have a Tinycam setup on a TV viewing 4 cams at once but I did replace the FireStick from a Lite to a MAX due to speed issues. I was having lag on the video side and the app seemed to struggle a bit, ran it like that for about a year but once I changed over to the MAX the faster processor and more ram made it perfect.
Now to address your statement; I had to choose Sub for the Stream Profile and Software Renderer in TinyCam to get everything working smoothly (7 wyze Cams).
Unfortunately choosing a hardware encoder caused issues for me like green/blue screens and hard crashes (Auto Reboot). Also make sure that you are using the original power supply that came with the Firestick. I was getting crashes/hard reboots powering the Firestick via a built in USB jack of a power strip.
I can confirm that a first Gen 4k Firestick can handle streaming 7 Wyze cams at once via the Sub Stream Profile in Software Rendering mode with no frame drops or issues.
As for weak WiFi, I use a cheap $25 Nova Mesh system [amazon.com] that I got via Amazon Warehouse that I exclusively use for my IP cameras. The cams connect to the mesh via 2.4GHz and the back-haul is 5GHz to the main Nova unit which is in Bridge mode connected by ethernet to my router that transmits a separate 5GHz channel (DFS [asus.com]) for my high bandwidth devices. Thanks to the cheap Nova mesh all my Wyze cams have excellent connection.
I just want to reiterate that I was mistaken when I claimed I was using an old 1080p Firestick for Tinycam streaming; I have a 1st Gen 4k Firestick. I don't think there's any way for an obsolete 1080p Firestick could handle streaming 7 cams at once. Perhaps you could make it work by streaming 2 or 3 cams on one screen and auto switching to the next set every 15 seconds or so. Sorry for the misinformation and Happy Thanksgiving.
I placed an order for 2 before looking at the specs.
Noticed that the port is micro usb & cancelled the order immediately.
I cannot bring myself to support a product (irrespective of how good the primary function is) with micro USB.
It's almost 2024, we don't have to continue to suffer with Jurassic era tech.

I find that 24/7 recording via MicroSD and Cam Plus Lite works really well together. If a motion or person event is detected I can view them via cloud for 12 seconds free. If I want to further investigate I can always view the recorded MicroSD footage.

What I specifically don't understand- how once you use tiny pro and a fire stick - how you can still see you Wyze cameras if the internet goes down? Last dumb question- if some of my Wyze cameras are another location other than my house with the fire stick can I still see these cameras on tiny pro without internet?
