I contacted BB months ago asking about the difference and the person told me these are basically older stock, but they're all made with the same materials in the same place.

Not sure that person knew what they were talking about as others have mentioned likely differences.

I did end up buying the 12 inch standard though and it's nice. I will say, if you're on the heavier side (I'm ~200lbs), I'd go for the firmer 10 inch. I wish I had. This mattress does sink in after a few months.

I think from my research that's just natural settling in, but it made it less comfortable for me. The firmer one would be better for slightly heavier folks I'm betting.

Anyway, for $200 I would say this is a pretty dang good deal based on my experience with the standard.

I got my 10" firm a few days ago, but I'll preface this by saying that I'm no bed expert.

The mattress I HAD was a medium, and after 7-8 years it had become unbearable. A couple springs were poking up, and it was sinking in certain areas.

This firm is exactly what I needed (back/stomach sleeper).

It's a lot firmer than what I expected from a bed in a box. The top 1" layer of foam is soft, but the mattress has very little give overall. To me, it's a good compromise between my previous medium mattress and sleeping on a hardwood floor. I've seen it described as a 6-7/10 firmness - like I said, I'm not an expert, but I'd probably put it at a 7-8/10. I'm not sinking into it at all.

It inflates in about 10 seconds once fully unwrapped. No real off gassing or fumes to speak of, only a slight smell. It's one sided. I've seen people complain about the edges on similar models, but the edge support on the firm feel about as good as my prior spring mattress. It inflated to the full 10", if not slightly more.

I'm just now waking up on day 4 and I'm very comfortable lying here.

Obviously I can't speak for how well it will hold up, but I'm happy with my purchase for now.

The biggest difference seems to be the layers in the mattress. Going by the images on walmart.com and the BB website:
Standard 12":
https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/...nBg=FFFFFF

Signature 12":
https://res.cloudinary.com/helixs...a=BAAAROBs

So the signature has 5 layers vs 3 on the standard. the 14" standard seems to have 4 layers (2" foam base layer).

twin not too small for me but my 12 was pretty firm.. I put my 4" foam topper for my old bones until I break it in. Didn't have the slats for hollywood frame so will use floor for now.

Is it a solid plank box spring? Brooklyn Bedding recommends not putting their mattress on old flex bases. From the Warranty info:

Brooklyn Bedding mattresses have been designed to be used on foundations with solid support with minimal to no flex. This includes slatted wood or metal foundations with slats no more than 4" apart, wood or metal box foundations, and solid wood or metal platforms, as well as adjustable bases. Substitution or use of improper foundations, such as old box springs (5+ years or more) without solid support, or slatted wood or metal foundations with slats more than 4" apart, will void your mattress warranty, and all other warranties expressed or implied.
wow, forgot I had a kids metal bunk bed frame stashed out back.. Perfect fit over my Hollywood frame and bars are spaced right. I was prepared to buy slats or even one of the SD bed platforms. Now it should be just the right height for getting out of bed. Sure is a lot of work swapping beds and still have to haul old one to dump. Sleep is important so hope I won't regret this "low price"

I looked up Walmart's return policy linked here and on their website. I cannot find anything specific to mattresses. Does anyone know what their return policy is on mattresses? For example, not opened, opened but not used, used for 30-days or less, etc.?

I called their customer care and confirmed that if it has been removed from the box and slept on, it is still returnable if not damaged. You can either take it to the store to return or call customer care and they will pick it up at your location. Has to be Walmart.com, not a third party seller on their site.

Purchased and received the 14" version of this mattress because I assumed 4 layers > 3. I know it's meant to be plush but this mattress is way too soft and have not had a proper nights sleep since receiving it. The edges are so soft and flimsy you will roll off the bed if you venture too close. It was worth a shot at this price but didn't work for me.

Scheduled a free return freight pickup through the app. Props to Walmart for a convenient return method.

No issues with smell - let it air out for a few hours as soon it was unpacked in a different room and that seemed to do the trick.
I know its old post. How did you manage to put it back in box for return?
