I remember when these were $98.

But this is very good deal. Very very nice Jack, use these in our towing company, the most lightweight and strongest jack in its class. Very reliable.
It was Arcan hybrid: aluminum and steel. Same basic jack as this Costco just in Green. https://slickdeals.net/f/16234138-amazon-arcan-3-ton-hybrid-aluminum-and-steel-floor-jack-145-66#comments

Arcan Hybrid in green at HD is now $245 on sale: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Arcan.../312264577

I'm pretty sure this Husky hybrid is the same jack too, specs are identical: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../315530068

Have this Jack and I like it a lot, only complaint is that it's still pretty heavy even though they use aluminum for some of it. Got mine for $99 in 2016, no issues with it at all over all this time.
Same here, love it. It is safe and fast. Still a little heavy.

Only thing I can say is that I have a costco Arcan jack from around 2004. Its a heavy blue 3.5 ton and it still works fine. I wish it went up more with each handle pump but otherwise I have done nothing to it except clean and grease it.

Even so, I would probably be leaning towards a harbor freight jack on sale at this point. They have the extended low profile 3 ton or the non extended 3 ton or you can get the top of the line super duty jack that has zirk fittings all over.

Probably just Marketing for those boy-racers, who buy car stuff based off the looks and bright colors?

This is an excellent jack. Light but heavy duty. Been using this for my Volvo SUV.

Can these be rebuilt/repaired unlike some other jacks??
I have an aluminum Jack that I purchased from Costco close to 20 years ago. The seals blew on it and I was able to buy a rebuild kit online. The problem I came across while rebuilding is that the cylinder wall was plated but over those 20 years the plating wore off in areas and the cylinder wall started to corrode. I have it working again but I don't trust it. I'll still use it because the corrosion is only in the areas we're the lift arm would be fully lowered. It also spews out oil on random occasion around the compression pistons at the back of the Jack and I will have to reprime it to get it working. Definitely not worth the hassle. Since then I have also purchased a HF 3ton low profile long reach jack. Holy shivers is that thing heavy. Just moving it around in my garage makes the concrete pads shake.

I've been thinking of buying 2 aluminum jacks, like the deal posted here, and, combined with that HF Jack, I could do a poor man's lift. There is an independent tire shop down the road from me that does this. They use 2 jacks to lift the front of a vehicle (1 behind each front wheel) and a third jack to lift the rear from either side at the rear. They go around to pump each jack to lift it up evenly. They do not use jack stands but for myself I could then use the 4th jack to support at the jacking point middle rear to remove the jack from the side to add jack stands at the back and the middle front support to remove the side jacks up front to add jack stands. Basically &800 in jacks and it would be as fast as a lift.

I picked the Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile jack from Harbor Freight for $95 today. That mofo is heavy getting it in and out of the car. I didn't think 78 lbs is heavy compared to the 105 lbs that some other jacks weigh, but you'll feel it. Fortunately I won't be carrying the Pittsburgh around much. I would love to shave 20 lbs off with this aluminum Arcan but I can't justify almost twice the price for something that I'll use twice a year to swap tires for the winter.

I've had this jack for years and it's been great. Only thing wrong, is the rubber pad is destroyed.
Yeah it's still heavy, but it's still a lot lighter than my all steel Daytona.

Yes my local store also has the red Arcan all steel for $139.99 as the regular shelf price.
It weighs 78 pounds vs the OP's hybrid Aluminum /steel which weighs 58 pounds.

If you never need to pick the jack up, all steel is probably fine. If you Do need to lift your jack and move it around, that's when you might want to spend the extra and go aluminum.
Is the main difference in these the weight?? I don't know much about jacks, these will both be equally dependable?

TIA for the help with my n00b question!

It's one of the differences. The 3 ton all steel jack starts lower profile at 3" and will go higher to 19.7" . Compared to the 4" to 18" lifting range of the Hybrid Aluminum/steel.

This mean the body of Arcan steel jack is going to be a couple inches longer also, which is part of why it weighs more.

Lots of videos on youtube. Here's a couple.

I bought aftermarket pads for my jacks. The benefit of aftermarket is they have grooves in them that fit the side rail jacking points on most vehicles.

Dude thanks for posting this.
I have this jack and use a hockey puck. Works great, but sometimes it can bend weird and it worries me.

Wish I knew about this years ago.

Wish I had this to move my ex-wife around, although she's close to the 3 ton weight capacity.

What rebuild kit did you use? Is there a liner insert that could address the corrosion?
