I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more interest - it's been a sleeper here - it's a very good price for this configuration. Why worth considering? UserBenchmark shows the i5-13500h CPU out performing the Slickdeal $899 Acer Nitro's Ryzen 7-7840HS CPU and quite close to the performance of the $1,200 Lenovo Legion's i7-13700HX CPU or the Gigabyte Aero's i7-13700H $1,130 for much less $$. Also it is a tad better performing than the $1,000 Asus Tuf with i7-12700H although that does have the better 4070 GPU. Where you can get this new for $799 the refurbished for $674 is quite a deal and probably in better condition than the BB open box "good" for $709. There have been some complaints on the BB "good" laptops being much closer to "fair" or less condition.

For any laptop or desktop there are certain tradeoffs. Yes, it's beefy and refurbished, the AC cord is a real brick, and the current lowest new sale price is $800 while the list is $1,200. If there are noisy fans they are generally replaced when certified refurbished. Regardless, for the price of $674 I'm not seeing anything comparable in this same price range new or certified refurbished. And the reviews are mostly positive for the Acer Predator Helio Nero laptop series regardless of the various onboard configurations. Below is a review of this rig matched against an Asus Tuf Gamer with the 13700 and 4060 and 16. The performance is very close while the price is dramatically different and in some cases near half. For that price you accept some of the tradeoffs going from the comparable Asus Tuf price of $1,500, New Acer Predator at $1,200, Used Acer $800, to refurbished Acer for only $674. I started wanting a rig with the 13700, 4060 and 16. But for the price and comparison of performances I settled for this one getting very close to the same level of performance for a fraction of the original cost.

I get what you're saying, but this $675 for a 4050 is hard to swallow when for about $125 more, there have been some 4060 deals:

In conclusion, I would be paying considerably more, getting CPU's that did not perform as well as this Acer's i5-13400H and getting a GPU that although a little better is not all that much making the $125 worth the added expense. I have a desktop with the 13700, 4060, and 16GB but didn't want to spend that much for a comparable laptop when mobile. So this is close enough for much much less than half of the cost of the desktop.

The 4060 is roughly a 20% improvement across the board, and you're not going to get that performance back regardless of any cpu differences. You also can't upgrade this later, so you're stuck with your decision. Personally, id err on the side of more performance as you'll usually make that up on the back end by staying relevant for a longer period of time.
Edit: I'll add that despite the above I just bought a G15 with a 4050 for my kid. I only paid $530 after taxes and CB, and it was a stretch from an iGPU budget, so I can totally respect buying to your specific needs.

The only one of these I'd say is objectively better is the Nitro, but you need a BJs membership and it's unavailable now. The others have worse CPUs and the HP Omen has cooling problems.
The real 4060 deal was the other refurbished Acer Predator with the 18"screen, but it's out of stock.
To add Acer is thunderbolt 4.0, which means a lot if you are looking for clutter free setup. To me thunderbolt is not negotiable as that is the key tech for future proofing.

That's cool. You asked why this deal is not gaining traction.. I gave you some valid reasons. Your specific use-case and focus on the CPU (which will be a minimal in real-world use) don't really resonate with the average gaming-laptop buyer, who will be focused on the GPU and screen above all.

Unless they're actually failing, they don't get replaced, and that's my biggest concern with any refurbished electronic. Another reason I would just spend the extra money on a new product.

The Acer refurbished was configured and in a price range I was seeking. Many comments stated that FOR JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE YOU COULD DO THIS, GET THAT, ADD, ETC... when my goal was not to go higher and to remain within the stated budget range having already purchased a desktop with all the bells and whistles of larger rigs. So I am very comfortable with my purchase as well as this laptop's worthiness. And chances are great that Cyber Monday may present other options but I pulled the trigger and should be content with what I get. And the 2 year warranty adds to my comfort level.

Regarding certified refurbished and "WHO KNOWS HOW FAR GONE THE BATTERIES ARE..." I researched Acer's definition of certified refurbished before purchasing. And it should be read by all interested buyers. Their computers (laptops or desktops) are NOT used or of lesser value. And having purchased them in the past gave me a 100% comfort level. The Acer refurbished was configured and in a price range I was seeking. Many comments stated that FOR JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE YOU COULD DO THIS, GET THAT, ADD, ETC... when my goal was not to go higher and to remain within the stated budget range having already purchased a desktop with all the bells and whistles of larger rigs. So I am very comfortable with my purchase as well as this laptop's worthiness. And chances are great that Cyber Monday may present other options but I pulled the trigger and should be content with what I get. And the 2 year warranty adds to my comfort level.
Refurbished products are used, and the reduced price and 2-year warranty are an attempt to entice buyers, knowing they are of lesser value than a new item.
