This is how it starts. $300 udm here, $150 access point there, signal kinda weak across the house, another $150 wouldn't hurt it's been a while.

The you end up with a $600+ router

Don't often see deals from Ubiquiti's official store, so wanted to make sure SD didn't miss out.

Love my UDM-Pro, two years no problems.

Nah, you just gotta have restraint. I only have a $500 router

Edgerouter X has EdgeOS while the Dream machine uses Unifi. DM Pro has 2 SFP ports if you wanted to add a fiber or other network interface, 8 GbE ports, and a NVR/HDD bay so it can record CCTV if you add cameras. FYI the Pro has no POE ports while the SE has 2 POE+ and 6 POE ports.
The Unifi Dream Machine Pro also have the build in Unifi Controller vs Edgerouter. If you have other unifi switches or wap, you can manage them via the Dream Machine Pro app. I have the edgerouter 4 and running unifi controller on raspberry pi, Windows software controller to manage my switches.

Yes but look at Orbi mesh, and it's about the same. Might as well go big or go home. I have Orbi, and am looking to jump over to Ubiquity at some point.

Same with me. USG is rock solid and debating if I should upgrade. Unifi sales are as rare as they come.
What are the advantages of this over the small USG? I have USG and a 16 port switch and 3 AP6 LR
I am on google fiber and don't have the IPS/IDS enabled on USG because it decreases the throughput.

I am using both ubiquiti and Orbi. Create a separate vlan on my ubiquiti network for orbi for all my IOT devices.

I was debating buying UDM-SE and another AP or Dream Wall to replace my USG and 8-Port switch (both of which I think are dying). But the dream wall at $799 looks enticing. Any thoughts if one solution is better than the other for home use?

Aw man, my entire home network is Ubiquti equipped. I am tempted to get the Dream Wall, but that would leave me having to find a buyer for my UDM and Lite 16 PoE switch. Really no sense, but I want... Must resist.

** Shipping does not make this a slickdeal. Considering you can get this at a MicroCenter sans shipping costs.
But it is $100 more at Microcenter?

Just a note, you get a 2 year warranty when you buy direct from Ubiquiti, 1 year when you buy from an authorized reseller. Last time I checked Micro Center is not an authorized reseller, so no warranty if you buy there. https://www.ui.com/distributors/

I spent over $1k, and in the end sold my UDM base unit and kept the APs. Sooooooo many issues with lost connectivity, almost zero tech support (one email every 4 days after I opened my ticket for the third time, they said no issue found after the first two), etc so I just gave it up. At one point, my fast speed was 10 mbps, and I get 500 coming in.

Switched to a high end Asus, hooked up the Ubi APs and voila.

You forogt about the End of Life of the product, Ubiquiti retires some of the product line as its replaced with new models, still works but no updates are being made and you loose functionalty

The 6 lite's work better now after the firmware upgrade it doubled the throughput on my garage AP from previous.. but didnt quite reach full line speed when I had 950MBit service.. (who cares though?)

I've been pretty happy with my UDM PRO setup.
The fact that it captures the wifi AP's on all the cars driving in front of my house is pretty funny too.
Which firmware update?

If you don't know it's best to stick to a consumer to router
