This is how it starts. $300 udm here, $150 access point there, signal kinda weak across the house, another $150 wouldn't hurt it's been a while.

The you end up with a $600+ router

Don't often see deals from Ubiquiti's official store, so wanted to make sure SD didn't miss out.

Love my UDM-Pro, two years no problems.

Nah, you just gotta have restraint. I only have a $500 router

Allowed me to add the UDM PRO to my cart. But then states:

Not available Remove from cart

EDIT: I'm starting to think the TIME WASTED trying to snag BF deals is not worth the hassle since almost everything I've had on my list is sold out.

Time is money!
That's just people hoarding multiples of the deals so they can re-post on ebay later for a mark up over MSRP. That $379 UDM Pro that you missed for $279 will be $450 in a week. laugh out loud

Can anyone comment on the noise output of the UDM Pro?

Is it typical rack mounted hardware levels (noisy)?

I find rack mounted stuff almost always has very noisy fans and is basically configured for maximum thermal control (which makes sense in a data closet but not my home office).
Swap the fan for a Noctura if you're going to run the network and protect. Otherwise I'd just running network it's barely audible. With protect and network it's about 50% fan speed. Which is annoying.

Thanks, very much appreciate the input.

Sounds like it's your typical rack mount quality fan (cheap and loud).

I'll likely just wait and see how the USG-Lite performs, though the lack of a second WAN/LAN port is a bummer.

I think you've got the right idea, unless there is something superior on the UDM SE that I'm forgetting. It sounds like you plan on using multiple APs so in your position I would get the UDM Pro + Enterprise 8 PoE. That way you can leverage the 10 gig fiber internet immediately if you opt for U6 Enterprise APs. I snagged a UDM SE this summer and have 1 gig fiber internet, but now I'm wishing I held off for this UDM Pro deal 😂
From what I read the SE has 2.5 GB WAN port , built in SSD and POE. I am hoping the SE goes on sale for Cyber Monday. I finally looking to replace my USG that is still running stong.

Fair warning, the Pro and Pro SE have different software development pipelines and the pro was ignored for a long time. SE would get features 1+ years before the regular pro. It only recently improved, but no telling if the slide back into that stance of ignoring the plain Pro.
The reason they make the updates the same with SE now is so they dont have to spend two resources for essentially the same product. I bet you this will be permanent, Pro will be getting SE updates the same time.

Anyone think special edition is worth the upgrade for the price?
Hell NO! They use the same processor. Better spend the money for 4TB SSD for protect.
