I've got two 10+ HSPF heat-pumps I leave on all year in New England. I used 1 tank of heating oil last winter, instead of 3 in the prior years. Only paid 1 tank more in electricity costs.
Fyi you can use the Wi-Fi adapter from a Mr. Cool unit on these just fine. You will have to use the Mr. Cool app. Pioneer has been sold out of the wifi adapters for a while.
