Current Deal - $37.99 + $10.00 Amazon GC. Is this the best we're going to get? I screwed up for TT 2019 not realizing I had just missed the after Christmas TT GC. Caught it the last 3 years as you can see, but is $37/$38 the best price now? Last year it came nowhere close to $29.99 and the GC. I am in FL so I don't need State and I file for me/wife and and do our son's using our copy of TT as well. I don't like online TT.

I opted to forgo the gift card option and go for the download of Deluxe Fed + State for the same price. This let's me take advantage of the $45.99 sale price and use my digital credits that expire on Dec 13th. This lets me purchase the software at a great price and use the digital credits that I've accumulated and wouldn't use otherwise.

The next sale won't happen until the last few days of December (for the same sale price) which would be too late to use the digital credits. Sales pricing history is easily determined by looking at past year products using the Keepa plugin.

I agreed. For average consumers, there is no customer support and need to rely on TurboTax Community. However, I started my own business last year so I tried their Full Service package because I'm a tax newbie. The full service totally surprised me. It's like having a personal tax accountant/butler standing by 24/7. I can reach out via sms/email/phone/video anytime I have question. The primary accountant who worked on my filing has over 30+ yrs of tax accounting experience and previously worked for IRS. He pointed out something I missed during the preparation, and even spent some times go over tax knowledge/tips with me. I literally didn't do anything besides uploading the docs, general ledger, and chat with him on the internet. All for $230! I'm very tempting to sign up again for this year.

I am 95% positive it means you can only choose 1 state. But you can only print the state form at the end. To e-file, it would cost another $19.99 a person.

Can someone correct me if I am wrong?

I take it that was without the state filing. I searched in SD's listings and could not find Fed and state Deluxe for $36.99. the lowest was $43.99.

On the same computer, you can make a whole new filing, so a couple filing separately wouldn't have an issue. However, you would only get 1 free state on that install.

If you do a new install on another computer, the state downloaded hasn't counted (previously). So you can download a new state for each of the 5 allowed installs.

The example listed is interesting, because it implies the husband works in one state and the wife in another. I guess not so unusual if you live on the border of another state, or these days, if someone works completely remotely into another state.

That having been said, this year they require linking your serial # to an Intuit account. So, maybe, on a different computer, you could install it and download a new state. Just would have to trust the person installing it with your Intuit account info.

I personally made a new Intuit account for Turbotax just for this year.
