We had one of these and it worked well enough. It would sporadically leak, but that's a problem we have had with many coffeemakers after several years of use. Our main complaint though was that it just didn't make a very good cup of coffee. I'm considering looping back around to it though after our 13-month old Ninja completely stopped functioning. Last one of those I'll ever buy.

I think the problem with the large pot maker on this is it dumps the water way too fast. It makes an entire pot in a min or two with a steady flow the entire time resulting in coffee flavored water. I don't think the water had enough time in the grounds. Great if you're in a rush each morning but not great for taste. Going back to my old Mr Coffee and will keep looking for an upgrade. The old Mr Coffee takes 10 minutes to make a pot but it drips it down slow and the result is a pot you can't see through it's so black.

You adding warm, hot or cold water? Should use cold water when making a pot as warm or hot can cause it to brew faster (through room temp can be okay for the delayed brewing feature in the morning). Otherwise sounds like a defective unit. Also the bold setting will make slower pot as well

We're actually using a $10 Mr. Coffee right now after the Ninja crapped out. We treat coffee like electricity in this household. You always need a backup generator. ;p
