It was better from the single serve than the whole pot for some reason, but neither was great. At the time we were coming from an older Cuisinart that made exceptional coffee, so it wasn't that the HB coffee was bad, it just paled in comparison from where we were coming from. The Ninja only made coffee marginally better than the HM at double the cost and a mere 13-month lifespan, so if I had to choose again I would have bought another one of these over the Ninja for sure.
i paid 90 for it though.
i should note i saw that it leaks in some reviews, and as such, i do not lift up the water reservoir off its valve, i simply pour a cup of filtered water from the fridge in, before i stick the same cup under the single serve outflow. doing such, i refill it as i go, and i dont get the valve leaking.

Similar to the above, I have this and have used it for about 2 years. I paid around $80 from Costco. I actually have had 0 problems with it and I also fill it up as I go just as this person described. I actually have been looking at fancier ones but after seeing all the issues with some other ones (like having to clean it off or even daily) I'm sticking with this. In the 2 years that I have had this I haven't had to descale or fix it of clean the insides even once - now that I'm typing that out it sounds gross but I'm glad I have had no issues and if you get this, hope you have no issues as well!
Which ninja? I have this and was looking to upgrade asap and the ninja was top of my list
My cm401 completely stopped working after about 14 months too. Liked it a lot but disappointing reliability.
I'm debating on whether to return it because of that.
