You will need to lock in this price first week of January. I talked to Taxact and they said their prices will get higher so to keep this price you need to pay for it to lock it in and they suggested the first week in January. They said the IRS will lock in the form and that's when you can pay for it.

By going to upgrade options like you, it said I am currently on premier at $17.xx which is what I wanted. However, going back to the My Account, it shows this return is at $34.99. What about you?
I did not check like you did, I remember there was something in the email to the point that the final price will apply at the time of filing or something like that, so I didn't worry too much once I saw that my account already reflected 17.xx as the correct discounted price. Taking a screenshot as someone suggested would be smart, just in case, but I wouldn't be surprised if like you said the system shows in some other place still the full price. I guess the magic will only work when we are ready to file.

Just remember to restart this same filing that you started now when you get back into your account in Jan/Fab, instead of starting a brand new filing (I think that happened to me last year, I created the new one and confused the hell out of me), otherwise the system will probably charge you a full price for the newly started filing, instead of this one from today that is supposed to be half price.
Correct, tried as well. Last year the best for download was the xyzzy% back from Amex offers when purchasing at Taxact, hopefully something like this will show up again.

No Amex here but I believe last year Sam's Club had a $35 back or something similar. Agree, hopefully both offers back this year.

shopping cart is correct, but the price in "my taxes" shows the non-discounted price. Generally the price shown in "my taxes" drives what they actually charge you at the end so hopefully they fix this shortly.
I guess this offer is only for people who do not file state tax, or do not need an additional software to file it (if their state has online filing).
This TaxAct offer costs $35 for Deluxe version ($12.50 Deluxe + 22.50 State), and right now it costs $24.99 for Deluxe + State from Amazon/Walmart/Newegg.

Agreed from my experience.
I use tax almost every year. They've denied me a screenshot discount that was not shown under the "my taxes" exactly like this. Ended up with a meh discount after a few chats
