I think it's pretty messed up of Citi to continuously offer 15% on Black Friday every year, as if that's their major doorbuster point-exchange deal, and have people cash out all of their points for that, thinking they just got an amazing deal... and then just few days later like clockwork, Citi ups it to 20% but now those people don't have any points left to get them because they already used them all up on Black Friday. I feel bad for those who saw that 15% and fell for the bait.

Lesson is to accumulate Citi points til Cyber Monday every year specifically for this promo on Apple GC's; do NOT fall for their Black Friday "deal". Citi really should instead just make it 20% for Black Friday thru Cyber Monday. Not that 15% crap.
I was waiting for the 20% like they do every year - redeemed 75k worth of points

I feel even worse for me. I had no idea about these Citi thank you point redemption deals and have been redeeming them regularly like a chump. I have a reminder in Things 3 to cash them out yearly at Cyber Monday now for iTunes 20%

I would be surprised if they price match given their sense of entitlement.
Happy to be proven wrong if they indeed price match. Smilie

Can someone please confirm if this is the best bang for your points apart from travel flights. I am about to enter 2nd year of my prestige card and planning to close it soon but have to redeem points before that.

I almost gave up the 20% hope because I did not receive Citi email until 11:41 am (PST). $100 Apple for 8,000 Citi ThankYou Points.

anybody know whether I can use it today to buy airpods pro USB C? it would be $249 + $50 apple gc in cart. But I would be out only ~$200 in ty points and would get USB C Airpods Pro for $150 (assuming I quate $50 apple GC to $50)

I placed my order two hours ago. Shows "fulfilled" but still don't have the email. I called Citi and was told to be "patient" as there are a lot of people buying Apple gc today. SMH

Nobody has mentioned the Vision Pro yet… so is there any downside to buying a bunch of these GC and using them to buy the Vision Pro next year upon release?
Only downside is that you will be buying a gen1 product that will likely be superseded by a much improved (and possibly cheaper) version after a year or so, and who knows how quickly Apple will phase out support for the original model. You probably won't get this thing on sale anywhere in the beginning so using discounted GC is a good way to get it. You can load up to $2000 onto your Apple account and then use an additional 8 gift cards when you check out. Assuming $100 GC you can use up to $2800 discounted GC dollars. You can put the rest on your Apple Card which earns 3% cash back at Apple.

FYI, every year, the jerks at citi offer these on black friday for 15% off only to turn around and offer mostly the same gift cards for 20% off on cyber monday. A-hole practice if you ask me...

Same. I fell for it a few years ago. I think that's as the first time they had 15% off on BF, while previous years were 20%. Luckily I didn't redeem all my points and ended up getting some more GC on Cyber Monday at 20% off. Now I always wait for Cyber Monday. This year I don't have that many points to spend though, as I have been more focused on getting Airline miles for overseas trips.

For those who don't know what to spend Apple gift cards on… if you want to buy standard/base config hardware or accessories, those are usually cheaper when on sale at Costco, Best Buy, Amazon, etc.
I use my gift cards to pay for iCloud and other services/App store purchases, custom configured hardware via Edu store (ideally during back to school promo), refurb hardware (usually only a good deal on non-Standard configs that can't be found elsewhere), or latest model iPhones (if you want to buy outright). If you qualify, Military, Apple employee friends/family, or business discounts yields similar or better discount as Edu, and work on refurb store as well. Edu and refurb don't stack. Also Black Friday weekend is a good time to buy certain items from Apple when they include promo gift cards. Apple allows you to pay for an item that includes a promo gift card with a gift card or your Apple account balance (which you can log up with gift cards).
Apple's GC promotions end on CyberMonday so there is a good overlap.

Yes, you can buy the AirPODS depending when you receive the TYP GC.
IMO, you would be paying ZERO. As I consider the TYP GC's as free money received for spending on regular expenses.

For digital Apple gift cards, can you resend to another person after receiving it?
