I don't think Costco people would tenderize steaks mechanically (simply add more labor cost). They usually cut their steaks fresh in bulk from vacuum-sealed whole pieces (usually gone within 1-2 days) while retail stores keep their steaks out on ice for much longer. Therefore Costco steaks appear to be tender and wet. As steak dries and protein/fat starts to degrade, the beefy flavor becomes more pronounced, like aging. I feel you probably will like ribeye cap a lot.

Fact check: I was wrong. They do tenderize most single-cut steaks with blades.

From what I recall, they do mechanically tenderize most of their steaks, unlikely for this though. I believe you can see it on the label as "Blade Tenderized".

Actually, the richest people are most often the cheapest.

Ask someone in the meat department for the type of steak (also quantity, thickness, etc.) you want but tell them not to run it through the tenderizer. I would bet they'd do this for you.

Great news. Costco is offering 0% financing for 24 months to purchase this. Or you can refinance your house. Your choice.

I love that someone "enhanced" the image by photoshopping a bell pepper in there...

"This Roast doesn't look right standing alone in its marbled glory.... How can we enhance it?"

"I know!"

Which method do you recommend ? Boil this or deep fried Wagyu ?
Depends...... If you're going to boil it, make sure it's very very thinley sliced. For fried, meat prope it until until internal 127 and let rest for at least 5 minutes. After1/4 inch slices for serving (3-4 slices a person is good enough). Both methods are really good, just try both. Personally I like thinly sliced with a few seconds under the rising flames of charcoal.

I didn't like it much, but my dogs love it, so now I buy it for them weekly!
Turns out A5 Grade Japanese Wagyu Boneless Ribeye Roast is much cheaper than buying pedigree cans.
Thanks OP! In for 3 at this price.

My thoughts are that people who can afford this aren't likely to hang out on slickdeals.
They don't but their staff will do

There wasn't a single piece of beef steak at my local Costoc that didn't have the "blade tenderized" text on its label, even the American Wagyu steaks had it.
For some reason I thought only cube steak was tenderized.

I get the A5 strip loin roast deal every year and get a butcher to slice for me frozen and vacuseal them. They are absolutely amazing quality, and a quarter of the restaurant price at ~$75 a pound.

I'm not sure what kind of extravagance you're talking about but the only way I pay this much for that amount of food was if I was on death row and I had to pay for my own last meal
Thats an unusual circumstance. you don't have to be on death row for a last meal, any meal could be your last meal.
