update: ebay sent the case to their appeals dept, and they reviewed the messages between me and Acer refurb, they overturned it and refunded me the amount. Thank goodness. Be careful "Gabriel from Acer" seems very scammy.

Very unfortunate
I've ordered 2 other computers from them and had no issues. Not buying anything from them after this shitty experience.
Perhaps cleaning and re-applying thermal paste would be needed?
GPU keeps nice 60-70C running benchmarks.
