Even at deep discounts Googan, Biospawn and the other junky baits Karl's sells isn't worth it.

Got a Googan hat for $5 ($19.99 at Googan) & a 3 pc set for $20 ( $32 at Googan). Had to pay $6.95 S&H

This is not at all true. I find the waggle worm to be one of the best finesse baits on the market. They also sell strike king, Shimano, blue fox, mepps, keitech, Lews, VMC etc. the deals they have sometimes are not great. But right now you can get some high quality stuff for cheap. I admit, Googan quality isn't amazing. However their lipless crankbait, clutch, is just as good if not better than the red eye shad. I wouldn't pay $50 for the membership, but when things go on sale like they were over the weekend, I stock up. Fish on!

Side note, prices for some things have increased but there are still lots of "dollar baits" at the discounted price.

I issued the warning because when you see people talk about gift giving and fishing, too many people think the MTBs are a great gift for die hard anglers. They aren't. Most serious fisherman (or women) won't throw much of anything that comes in a MTB. And most of the junk I saw that is on sale also wouldn't find a spot in most serious angler's tackle boxes.
