My credit limit is $3k (which is pretty low compared to most of my other cards but whatever)…
Next, I'm a big spender on travel so I wanted to try and maximize as much of the 3% and/or 2% cash back as possible. I could easily spend between 2k-10k depending on the month.
No biggie, I figured I'd just pay the balances off as the charges post. However, I ran into the PayPal weird policies I mentioned above. PayPal will not update your available credit for 6 to 12 to 21 business days at a time.
I've contacted them multiple times and they informed me due to my inconsistent payments and that it's an automatic internal system they have no control over. This makes no sense to me…I've done this for every other card under the sun without any issues (wherever I've had a relatively low credit card limit).
My guess is they want to limit how much cash back they shell out and it's ingrained in this bs practice.
You can search online that there are a lot of people that have similar issues.
Otherwise, despite being called a "World" card; there *are* foreign transaction fees.
Aside from those two things, 3% on PayPal integrated payments is nice.
I stopped using the card altogether because of the available credit bs they kept pulling.
Edit: fat fingered; 3 years changed to 2 years
I used this card for everything that I didn't get a better cash back % on. I was "earning" several hundred a year and paying the balance in full every month. Apparently they don't like that and started declining purchases due to "possible fraud". I verified with them several times but they kept playing games. The last time I talked with them they wanted me to send them a video of myself. Just BS, so I tossed it in a drawer and never used it again. They recently sent me a cancellation notice because I wasn't using it. Fine. Synchrony is a weird bank. I have a CD and a Sam's credit card through them, and I'll bet they can cross reference if they want to. I get many hundreds back on the Sam's card, but I don't think they'll pull the same shenanigans with a Sam's customer as they apparently felt comfortable doing through PayPal.
Card would be useful to me but i already have a bunch and it's hard to justify signing up for one that doesn't have a bonus these days.
Huh, now I am even more suspicious.
I also use this card for everything and pay off every month.
Just the other day, my card got declined, tried again next day, same thing.
Called them and they said, "oh we received a letter that you were deceased". I asked for the letter and they said, we don't have it, but said they will reactive the card in 1-2 days.
Perhaps this is all BS and they have other reasons to do some shady stuff.

Can you send a link to this info? I can't find anything about it.
I replied to the wrong post. I can't find info on the drop to 1.5%
"2%: Each Eligible Purchase made by you everywhere else that Mastercard is accepted will earn 2% Cash Rewards until July 31, 2024 and thereafter 1.5%."
Here's the City's Double cash [citi.com] offering the same cashback %.
