There are very good post Black Friday/Cyber Monday refurbished deals — Like New and Scratch and Dent are 25-55% off new prices (take this with a grain of salt) in the Dell Outlet right now:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/dfh/lp/outlet-deals

Additional Stacking Codes
———————————————
18% off Inspiron Code: 786955Ins
18% off XPS Code: 787140XPS
20% off Alienware Code: 787355Ali
18% off G Series Code: 787545Del
17% off Latitude Code: 785930Lat
17% off Precision Code: 786040Pre
17% off Vostro Code: 786130Vos
17% off Chromebooks Code: 786525Chr
Also warranty/service deals

You can also stack at least 5% each off of a cash back site and CC using Chase Offers.

For example, if you look the Dell Outlet inventory, you can also find a 16" Inspiron 7000 laptop in Refurbished Like New condition with nice specs for the price: Intel i7-13620 2K 300nits TB4 32GB RAM 2TB SSD and RTX 4060 for $1138 before 18% off Inspiron coupon. You can also use a search for a deal site (the other one that begins with an R or Not) to get an additional 5% off and Chase Offers for another 5% off. It ends up being $839.84.

For this Inspiron 16 7000 (7630): $1750
After 35% off Refurbished Dell Inspiron: -$612
————-
Price before code: $1138
Use code: 786955Ins to stack 18% off: -$204.84
————-
Subtotal before taxes: $933.16

For Additional Savings:

Chase Offers CC 5% cashback: -$46.66
————-

As of now they have 3 of these Inspirons, 1 with a better processor with only 1TB SSD. If you change the filters to allow for 16GB, you'll see many options much cheaper and probably even better values such as a 16" QHD OLED 2 in 1 for over $100 less without the GPU, many other 4K OLEDs with other GPUs such as RTX 4050, RTX 2050 and MX550.

In fact I saw some many interesting deals for XPS 13 and 15 models, but those are non upgradable similar to MacBooks. Great deals on not too low amounts of RAM and SSD. Also saw some solid deals for Latitudes, Precision workstations, Vostro and even Alienware although not as big of a savings. I'm sure there may be some better ones than I found if you look hard enough.

I won't be monitoring this but do your own searches and please list some of the good deals found for others. There are many non-deals too, but some good filtering and sorting willl lead to a lot of solid bargains.

Happy Hunting!

Edit: You can call them up and request free expedited shipping if they screw up the estimate. Ended up getting free 3 day shipping.
One thing is there estimated delivery dates may be way off. I saw one estimate a week from now that was immediately changed to two weeks later after the order wass confirmed, so don't depend on those estimates if you need it right away as they recover from BF/CM order volumes.

I had a Precision once and the build quality was very good. I would get it again if I needed a workstation performance in a large but sometimes portable package. Go get them if you see a good price.

Precision appears to be expensive or am I overreacting
Precisions are their cream of the crop business laptops. My work supplies me a 5000 series and.... they are NICCCCCCEEEEE! I want one but I can't justify spending that much on my own lap top, especially when I have this work one right here.

It's fairly small and thin, decent battery life, and plenty powerful.

Recent laptop Dell BIOS update contained firmware that made my 2021 G5515 Ryzen non-functional. I paid $39 to send it in for repair and told them it was an issue caused by them. They wanted to charge $210 to fix it. I talked to 4 different Indian people before telling them to just return it. It took them a month to send it back, not fixed. I asked for help on the Dell reddit and had at least 30 people reply with the same issue, no resolution.

My work laptop's fans and battery died after one year. One coworker had their battery swell up and catch fire after two years. And yet another has both battery problems AND a keyboard that stopped working. Worst part is that we ONLY use our Dell laptops to RDP into work towers, and we use our own peripherals.

Moral of the story is that Dell can't be trusted. They only stay in business by offering the absolute cheapest parts to companies. Buying refurbs from company buybacks is a recipe for trouble.

I've bought from their refurbished site and was happy with the purchase, but also had a horrible experience with trying to buy a prebuilt from them that was on backorder for 60+ days and then an Alienware that failed and required me to replace about half the components in it. I steer clear of Dell for the most part though.

Alienware x14 with 4GB 3050 is $900. We paid $600 for a new one with a 6GB 3050 this summer.

Not slick prices.

I used to buy Dell but after having numerous issues, switched to Apple and never looked back

No, but would be slick if it did.
