I hate it. The ice maker is super slow and takes like 5 seconds to respond, and the compenents are very cheaply made. I've had to tighten the door handle twice already and the clip on the filter housing broke the first time I tried to replace the filter.

I've had similar quality issues with my Whirlpool oven. Never again. Jumping ship to LG next time.
I bought this two years ago...no it wasn't. It was $2400 because there was a supply chain shortage.
For those of us without a time machine, it seems like an ok option.

It's a fantastic form factor, problem is, it's too small. Needs to be about 34 cu.ft. If they make same form factor but slightly larger I'll be all over it. Samsung makes a similar form factor and larger but who wants a samsung with their compressor issues!

It's fantastic except it needs to be almost 2x the size? Playing fast and loose with the term "slightly larger"

Ohhhhhhhh I want a fridge with 4 doors said no one ever!

If this helps someone I didn't realize that the Costco credit card no longer gave an extended warranty. We bought a fridge recently and bought directly from Whirlpool Inside Pass because it was cheaper to buy the fridge and their extended warranty than the same one from Costco.

There is a thread on here somewhere where you can get guest access or ask people what the price is if you want to compare.
For those interested:

Inside pass price for this is $1247, extra 5% discount with code -$62.35 = $1184.65
Install w/ haul away of old fridge is extra $12
Extra 1 year warranty is $73.95 (Costco offers 2 years, so this is required for same comparison)

Total = 1270.60

About $30 cheaper than Costco but Costco may be easier for people.

Edit: I just got another targeted 5% coupon that stacked but combined it takes 5% off the discounted price
-$59.23
-$62.35
So new total is $1211.37

I recently bought a French door Whirlpool refrigerator from Lowe's that was on sale, actually price mistake. $1,200, reg. $2,700. Cheap plastic inside. Noisy. I regretted not getting a more expensive KitchenAid unit that was on price mistake for $1,100 but when a technician was here the other day to check out my Whirlpool unit, he said they have had a lot of service calls on the KitchenAid unit that I did not get and there are few if any fixes for the KitchenAid unit's issues. He said I am better off with the Whirlpool unit. One man's opinion.

The refrigerator that I got rid of was an OLD Whirlpool top-freezer unit that we had for over 25 years. Then new appliances are junk and not made to last.

I've had a three French 4 door designs 2 from haier and this whirlpool. I really like these French door designs because they allow me to store frozen goods from trader joes or from asian grocery stores in the pull out drawers. The smaller cubic footage ensures that I do not horde expire condiments and other foods.

The haier is a similar design and is the first four door I've had - bought it in 2018 for about 800 dollars. It lacks an automated ice maker and water dispenser, but means it's easier and cheaper to fix if anything breaks. I've had to replace a fan in it, and the part was about 40 dollars w/2 hours worth of work.

The original price of the whirlpool from Lowes was around 1500-1700 dollars (with military discount), but the delivery people scraped the side and Lowes gave it to me for half off if I kept the unit. I wanted another haier, but with supply chain shortages the price of a haier was about 1800-1900

The third fridge I bought was for my new house's finished basement when supply chain issues were resolved and got it for about 1000. This fridge was for a family that stayed with us for a few months, so I couldn't wait for it to go on sale.

Over all I would say that having an ice machine in the whirlpool is nice. Samsung's 4 door depending on the dispenser option is a much more expensive option (3-4k from what I remember in 2022)

I went from Whirlpool to LG myself (with the smart inverter compressor as LG's linear compressor was a class action nightmare). Build quality is much better (my Whirlpool even had a cardboard back panel), and for whatever reason, Whirlpool's compressor is incredibly loud.
I thought common wisdom is that Whirlpool is preferred due to standard and easier to repair?

Yeah, the only reason I got a Whirlpool is we had a Kenmore from 2005 that didn't need a bit of repair in 18 years of service. Whirlpool made it, so I figured I'd give them another go.

Mistake.

Yes, but I couldn't take the loud noise from the Whirlpool compressor (and my previous Whirlpool's compressor died after 8 years and it's not worth the cost to replace a compressor). Whirlpool doesn't seem to have advanced into using a variable-speed compressor yet (what LG refers to as "smart inverter" and Samsung refers to as "digital inverter"), at least not on their sub-$2K models. So it grinds away loudly when it's on. And the build quality has gotten substantially cheaper as well.

Had it for almost 3 years. I don't use the ice maker stuff so can't say anything about that. But I haven't had any problems so far. I think we bought it was $2300 or so back in 2021.

Cold day in hell that I buy another Whirlpool. I've got a 3 year old house and all of the Whirlpool appliances are broken beyond repair and I have to replace them all. Lowest quality junk of anything I've ever bought in my life. Never again.

Only a moron would buy this.

Perhaps you should try shopping counter depth fridges and then you'll realized there are NO CHEAP COUNTER DEPTH ONES.
