Various Merchants have 5-Quart Staub Cast Iron Tall Dutch Oven (Various Colors) on sale from $149.95. Shipping is free .

Thanks to Deal Hunter idk_then for finding this deal.

Available Colors:Product Details:
  • Designed for cooking larger quantities without using up stovetop space, the 5-quart Tall dutch oven is an elongated version of the classic 4-quart. The additional height is optimal for preparing bone-in meat cuts, layered dishes like tians, or those that rise, such as soufflé. The added height lessens the risk of liquids boiling over and reduces splattering when deep-frying or searing is required. Like all STAUB dutch ovens, this is ideal for slow-cooking meats and vegetables and simmering hearty stews and soups. The cast iron construction possesses exceptional heat-retaining qualities, so the pot heats evenly throughout. With its heavy weight, a textured lid interior that funnels evaporated juices back into food, and a tight-fitting lid, the dutch oven provides the ideal environment for evenly cooked, juicy, and flavorful food.

I don't know how great of a deal this is, feel like I got a larger size (blemished) for around the same price, but just about everything we've cooked in this has come out amazing. Braised meats stay super moist because of the heavy lid and really tight seal.

Looks like the days of the 5-Qt being $100 are over. And it wasn't that long ago...

Those are probably Seconds with some type of flaw. I saw those today. The Le Creusets there had a sticker on them that stated Seconds.

The black interior is supposedly better for baking sourdough, is what one baker told me.

I have a LC second - can't tell the difference from my "first quality" ones.

For the person who asked the question about the AMEX Saks credit- I did exactly that last year with this pot. Absolutely love it.

Thanks for commenting on this. Went ahead and pulled the trigger with the $50 credit making this $100.

check craigslist and similar local marketplace apps,
you can find these for $20 at charity flea markets.
people buy these, don't use them enough, so they
get rid of them when they feel like decluttering.

I saw a few with flaws. Warped lids is common. If you're baking breads you don't want steam released. But if cooking a roast or braising then you can get away with a warped lid.
