I played through

Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga

Its good, but almost frustratingly deep. Its a STRATEGY RPG similar to fire emblem, but instead of managing 5-10 characters You manage squads and there can be some like 18 squads with 9 characters per squad and every character is a full nameable character, stats, levels, job classes, equipment.

There's a ton of actual characters that have agency in the story, but most you create or hire in towns as mercs.

Its very very deep, but by the end of it I was pretty burnt out on micromanaging my entire army. It was fun at first, but after a while I wished for some automation. maybe 8/10 for me.
